Rangers v Hibernian - Saturday, 3pm

Rangers' haven't lost at home domestically since 6th October 2007, but guess who beat us that day ? Yes, Hibernian. The only team to come away from Ibrox with a win since then have been Lyon on 12th December 2007, so Rangers have now gone a full year undefeated at home in all matches.

I hope I haven't put the jinx on us now, as Hibernian are on a good wee run of form at the moment, having taken 11 points out of 15 in five games unbeaten, including their win over Celtic. Having said that, the game is at Ibrox and I expect Rangers to win.

I expect Rangers to be along similar lines to last week, with the only changes possible being a return for Madjid Bougherra and possibly a change at left midfield, but Smith will probably go with McCulloch again unfortunately.

Falkirk v Celtic - Sunday, 2pm

I expect to see a reaction from Celtic in this one, after the week's events and after having dropped 5 points out of 6 recently. If Celtic were to drop points at Falkirk ahead of next week's Old Firm game, it would be shaping up as a potentially disastrous month of December for Celtic.

But I expect Celtic to come out with a point to prove on Sunday, to show that they are behind the manager and can cope without McGeady. It won't be a pushover, as Falkirk are always a tough nut to crack at home for the Old Firm, but Celtic will have too much for them.

Your thoughts ?

I forgot to mention that the weather forecast for Sunday is horrendous. High winds and driving rain going sideways across that open-to-the-elements farce of a ground that is The Falkirk Stadium.

Lovely.

It has a huge effect at The Falkirk Stadium. Rangers played there during PLG's reign in similar weather and it was a complete farce of a match.

Rangers 1 Hibernian 0

Job done. I wasn't at the game today, but I heard the full 90 minutes on the radio and it sounded like a one-way procession for 95% of the game. I was actually out walking the streets listening to the game, and when Rangers got their 12th corner of the game and the score still 0-0, I made a conscious decision to turn and walk back the way I had just come, in a pathetic attempt to change the course of fate.  10 paces later Kris Boyd scored from that corner.  I kept walking in that direction right to the final whistle.

Anyway, over to Celtic. As I said, I expect them to do the business tomorrow.

Falkirk 0 Celtic 3

Two injury time goals meant the scoreline flattered Celtic a bit. The result was never secure until Mizuno's goal in the 91st minute. I'm not saying Celtic didn't deserve to win the game, but 3-0 was harsh on Falkirk in my opinion. Celtic just had too much for them over the 90 minutes, as I predicted they would.

But hey, it's a good thing. I always like it when Celtic go into an Old Firm game thinking they're good.
