I spotted this wee exert from Berkovic's book a few days ago, quite interesting I thought. It doesn't take any pain away from yesterdays defeat but it does remind me how glad I am to be on our side of the fence.

" Celtic was a big mistake for me, that's for sure. Celtic never understood me , and I for sure never understood them. It was a club with an image which was full of its own self importance and role in the world. The club was going through a troubled time and when manager John Barnes got the sack, my days there were numbered. It's hard to say this but I feel that I have to point out that Celtic, certainly at that time did not react well to people who they did not consider were 'one of them". I am Jewish and proud of my religion and background, Barnes and Ian Wright felt the same as me, and they were quickly ostracised when results went against us. After one midweek game which we lost, Wright and Barnes were subject to really disgraceful racial abuse in the car park. It was at that point I knew I had to get out. I found it really disconcerting having to play in front of a huge crowd where many fans had PLO flags and celebrated terrorist actions. They were backing an organization which, after all, wanted the destruction of the State of Israel. How could I give one hundred percent for such a club with an ethos like that?
The Celtic Rangers games were utter madness, and I had to remind myself for which club I was playing! I always stood up for the sovereignty of the nation and the right of law. Celtic seemed to be going for the opposite, by supporting terrorist groups from Spain, Ireland, the Middle East and Africa. It was crazy!".

As if to underline Berkovic's anger, was the fact that shortly after his departure from Celtic, (the man who released him) Martin O'Neill signed John Hartson who had assaulted the slight Israeli at a training session when both men played for West Ham. Even a quick glance on youtube years later, does nothing to dampen the sheer brutality of the unpremeditated attack on Bekovic.

"The signing of somebody like John Hartson by Celtic did not come as a surprise to me. It was a marriage made in heaven. The fans finally had found somebody who embodied everything they stood for, and I for one was not astonished that he went onto become a cult figure at their club."

As for tomorrow's derby in Glasgow, Berkovic will be tuning in to watch the game though it comes as no surprise at all to learn that he will leaning towards the blue side of Glasgow tomorrow. Berkovic, like him or loathe him, usually gets the big decisions right.

Tell me, Alltims, how many times have you visited what you class as a "strongly protestant area" in Northern Ireland ?

I have been visiting Northern Ireland on a regular basis (at least once a year, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year) for the last 16 years, and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I cannot ever remember seeing "Israeli flags scatter among the Union Jacks" as you claim.

Now I have visited Shankill Road, Templemore Avenue, Newtownards Road, Albert Bridge Road and all of the staunchly protestant sites of Belfast.

Once again, Alltims, you're choosing to believe people who want to twist your mind, rather than making your own mind up based on that wee thing that is crucial to your chosen career, i.e. evidence.

Portadown springs to mind where i've seen them, most Rangers supports have the same values as NI protestants or are NI protestants

Ok, Alltims, once again you've made what I believe a false accusation against me.

As we all know, at this point I ask you to provide evidence to back up your wild accusation. And at this point, you twist and turn list a twisty turny thing, and we all end up laughing at you.

So come on, do us all a favour and talk your way out of this one. Let's see what excuses you can come up with this time for not being able to provide any evidence to back up your accusations in message no.21.

This should be a laugh.

Wahey ! The predictable "I can't be arsed to find the post" reply that we all knew was coming !

Because, as we all (including you, Alltims) know, that it doesn't exist and you made it up.

You really never learn, do you ? Hilarious.

I think MartyC can speak for himself pretty well, Alltims, and I haven't once seen him backing you up on one of your foundationless accusations.

Oh dear, Alltims, oh dear.

I've to "stop killing threads with this s****" ? Me ? Are you for real ?

Was I the one who made the wild fabricated accusation in message 21 ? Am I supposed to just let that go ?

Hey, listen Alltims, just because Rangers FC let lies about them go unchallenged in the mhedia doesn't mean that Rangers fans let lies about them go unchallenged on forums like this.

As I've said previously, you have proved yourself to be a liar before, yet you continue to make these completely fabricated accusations about things that you would like me to have said, and you can never ever back them up with any evidence whatsoever.

For a guy whose whole career is based on evidence, that just makes you a laughing stock.
