Chris Burke has signed for Cardiff City. What surprised me, however, is that it was on a free transfer according to reports. We must be really desperate to save money if we are now allowing players to leave for nothing in order to get the wage bill down. He never really reached his true potential for a variety of reasons, mostly injuries and illness, but he is one of quite a few whose depature would not be a great loss.

Gow seemingly has failed a medical at Wolves due to a "bio-medical" problem, whatever that is, according to the Wolves manager. It seems strange to me that he has played 17 games already this season and suddenly he has a problem which even Wolves say is not serious. Maybe we could try and use him as he would not be any worse than some of those already in our first team pool.

Alan Gow will never play for Rangers again, you can forget that possibility.

What do you know about Gow that we don't? It's obvious there is something about this guy that no-one at Ibrox is prepared to disclose.

I don't know anything that you don't know, other than we will never see him play for Rangers again.

Whatever happened must have been pretty serious for him to have been ignored before he went on loan. I think he played 2 games for the first team and according to reports at the time he played very well so I don't think it has anything to do with his football ability.

When things like this occur it leads to all sorts of rumours. I recall the rumours about at least two players who left Ibrox under a cloud for allegedly picking pockets of their fellow players.

Gow only played two matches - v East Fife and v East Stirlingshire, when we had practically a reserve side out in both games.
