Bearing in mind there are 12 teams in the SPL, why do we have such a crazy mixed-up set of fixtures this season ? How difficult is it to schedule games where we play the other 11 teams at home or away and then reverse the fixtures for the next round of games ? Take the Old Firm matches, for example, and where they appear in this season's schedule :-

Celtic 2 Rangers 4 - game 4
Rangers 0 Celtic 1 - game 20
Celtic v Rangers - game 25
Rangers v Celtic - game 34 probably

Yes, there are only four league games against the other sides before the Old Firm meet again on league duty, after sixteen games being between the first two. Can somebody explain that to me ?

Also, can somebody explain to me this one ?

Falkirk v Rangers - game 1
Rangers v Falkirk - game 22

Celtic v St Mirren - game 1
St Mirren v Celtic - game 15

Surely we should have been playing Falkirk at Ibrox in game 15 if Celtic were playing St Mirren ? But bizarrely we were playing Aberdeen at Ibrox instead, who we met at Pittodrie in game 3, when Celtic were playing Falkirk instead !

They seem to be making it as complicated as possible, and that really makes me suspicious, especially when 8 of Rangers' first 13 league matches are away from home, including away trips to Pittodrie, The Piggery and Easter Road.

I wonder what Peter Liewell and his "sporting integrity" committee have to say about that ?
