What was your footballing highlight of 2008 ?

For me there is no debate. Wednesday 14th May 2008. It was my proudest moment as a football fan when I saw my team walk out onto the pitch to compete in the UEFA Cup Final. That day will stay in my memory forever, right from the moment I was picked up by TGO at dawn, to the massive red white and blue convoy down the M74 and M6, to the marvellous scenes at Albert Square throught the afternoon, and then to actually be able to attend the match. Ok, so the result didn't go our way, but it was still a fabulous occasion to be part of and a brilliant memory.

There were other great moments throughout the year though. Novo's penalty shoot-out winner against Fiorentina in the semi-final and the celebrations in TGO's living room immediately the moment the ball hit the net, Novo's away goal equaliser away to Panathinaikos with 8 minutes left that put us through, Kris Boyd's penalty shoot-out winner against Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup Final, Kevin Thomson's beautiful winning goal against Celtic at Ibrox in March, Pedro Mendes' rocket shot goal at The Piggery in August, Artur Boruc dropping the ball at Kenny Miller's feet in the same game.

I suppose the Celtic fans will say winning the SPL will have been the highlight of their year, but if I was them I'd be just thinking what might have happened had it not been in Scotland.
