If Boyd goes then any remote possibility we had of being serious contenders for the league title will go with him.

There are many better footballers at Ibrox than Boyd as we all know but when it comes to being a natural goalscorer none of them are at the races.

Lafferty never seems to be fit and does not look like a player who will score on a regular basis. He may be being played out of position but he wasn't a prolific scorer at Burnley was he?

Novo and Miller can't be faulted for their terrific work-rate but natural goalscorers, no chance. Their composure in front of goal is pathetic at times.

Velicka looked as he could be the answer when we signed him as he had a decent record at Hearts but as usual when we sign someone they seem to be on the treatment table most of the time.

Getting rid of your best striker reminds of the time when we got shot of Forrest and McClean without replacing them with decent strikers for which we paid a high price.

I don't know what's happening at Ibrox these days but there are definitely strange goings on. The situation with Gow has never been explained. I'm afraid Walter has squandered a fair bit of the money supplied on some of the players he has brought in and while I'm grateful for all the success he's brought us in the past I think he has had his day.

Seemingly we have to pay Burnley £1 million this month so this is probably the reason for the panic. The failure in Europe this season has no doubt brought about the crisis but the management should take the full blame due to their ridiculous signing policy at the start of the sesason.
