Assuming wee Baz moves on as expected over the next few days, who of the current squad should become the new captain? There's not too many suitable candidates imho.

David Weir? Probably the obvious choice as a temporary measure but I'd like to believe (surely!!!!!) that this will be his last season. In fact I'd be signing a replacement in this window if funds were available.

Who else? McGregor? not for me, I don't like a goalie as captain, especially not a dodgy one. Broadfoot? No way Jose! Papac? same. Boug? Not been here long enough or impressed quite enough. Mendes? Despite impressing everybody I suspect he's not captain material. Davis?  A possibility I suppose but quite young and not been here quite long enough either I suspect. Thomson? Injured long term so not an option. Anybody else? Unthinkable for various reasons.

So were back at old Davie Weir then eh? Unless we sign a superstar who is obvious captain material in the next couple of weeks. I'll not hold my breath.
