Worth a short-term contract at Ibrox to see if he can still kick it ? He's available on a free transfer after falling out with Schalke and being released, and has returned to his house in Newton Mearns while he looks for a club.

Reportedly he's desperate for Rangers to take the chance on him and would be willing to take a low weekly wage, and of course there is no transfer fee involved.

It seems like a no-brainer to me, to be honest. While I think his best position is obviously through the middle, he is a better option out on the left than any of the players we have tried there so far this season.

Ok, so he's a chicken, and he's a diver, and he rips his tights in just about every game. But he scores goals in big games (he regularly scored against Celtic in his first spell, and I recall goals against Inter Milan, Porto and Villarreal in the Champions League) which is something that Kris Boyd never does.

Your thoughts ?
