i think very little of the above could argued in for the case for Smith/McCoist and i have trouble in thinking who is really to blame apart from Dave Murray. PLG and Smith/McCoist have signed alot of players that aren't Rangers quality, Rangers coach was signed when he was Celtic's youth coach keeping in mind, he brought great talents in Shaun Maloney, Aiden McGeady, John Kennedy etc. I think McLeish had a very good team which he built, PLG signed alot of crap players, Watty and McCoist haven't been convincing in summer signings though but still signed alot of quality in terms of Broadfoot, Thompson, Davies etc.
All in can see in lack of investment within the club, bad financial management and shher lack of involement from Board of Directors and higher ups |
