Several of Butcher's teamates from that world cup expressed the opinion that Butcher should get over it and let it go. Gary Linekar in particular scoffed at Butcher's bitterness from two decades previous.

 

It appears that Mr Butcher carries his grudges to the grave. I reckon he must be a pretty horrible person to know.
