While I think that no-one should be subjected to a cowardly attack for which the two thugs concerned got what they deserved surely Lennon should have known better than to venture out after an Old Firm game in Glasgow especially with the way he acted on and off  the field as a player.  Everyone knows that there are many idiot supporters out there from both sides who are always going to get involved like that. There are many players from both sides who are very fervent about their support for their team but you never hear of them getting involved. There are exceptions of course as we have seen over the years.

The reporting of the verdict by the BBC was typical of them as they have shown a bias against Rangers Football Club for quite a number of years now and take every opportunity to twist facts to show us in a bad light. The facts stated at the trial were deemed to be of no importance to them. The media in Scotland make a great issue regarding sectarianism but the truth of the matter is that they take great delight in stoking the fires as it suits their own agendas. It is difficult to get this point over to people outwith Scotland but we have had to live with it for years and you know what, despite valiant efforts by many people in various organisations, the situation will never be resolved.

To give an example of how the media give a slant to their reporting. Some years ago Peter McLoy's brother was involved in some criminal activity, I think it was a bank raid, and the press headlines were along the line of " Peter McLoy's brother in court". There was also the case of Billy Dodds father-in-law being involved in some sort of child abuse but Dodds name was mentioned in the reporting. I'm quite sure the same things have happened to Celtic players as well but I'm afraid this is the climate of modern day Scotland which in my opinion is worse than it was years ago because most of the people reporting now are not real journalists, merely sensationalists. If you have any doubts just listen to the likes of Traynor, Keevins, Chick Young etc and read some of the so called reports in the press.
