We all know BBC lost out for this season's FA Cup coverage but the mentality of the bosses at STV is beyond reason.
While ITV regions managed to view a few matches live in the last round STV declined to take any coverage pointing out that it was now their policy to show programmes with a Scottish slant when in actual fact few of them did.
I see from this weeks TV guides while the rest of Great Britain is going to see Man U v Tottenham early on Saturday evening we in Scotland are being palmed off with another load of rubbish. It's no wonder STV's viewing figures are tumbling when, with a chance to pull in a much bigger audience by showing a major sporting event they again cop out. And, it's not just in sport they are allowing major series to be shown all over but not in Scotland.
The fact that they don't have a sports department now is probably the reason they don't want to show anything as it would embarras them. From a financial point of view surely the object is to get as many viewers as possible, especially at prime viewing time. I don't think it will be long before STV gets taken over and in my opinion it can't come to soon.
