Apostolic Baretta

John 3:5 refers to the Holy Spirit as water and spirit there  not water baptism and spirit baptism there. Read the rest of the chapter of John. Also read this and I hope it helps

John 7:38In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) 4

Now Apostolic Baretta the Holy Spirit is called living water there and in countless other verses the Holy Spirit is called spirit which is Jesus Christ.

There is only one baptism that saves you and that is the one Jesus does himself when you accept the gospel and this is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.Read this please

Esphesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7

Your saying there is Two Baptisms that save well I am saying only One Baptism that saves and that is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost not water baptism in Jesus Name.  I thinks it great your being baptized in Jesus Name just don't let that be your salvation but focus on what God did on the cross by giving his body and blood for you  and raising himself up on the third day by His  Own Spirit. God's finish work on the cross and his shed blood is what saved us so without it you have nobody or nothing to get water baptized for. Esphesians 4:4 teaches the oneness of God and that includes the oneness of baptism which Jesus fits Esphesians 4:4 perfectly as The One Body, One Spirit, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God, One Father. Jesus is the Father, Son, Holy Ghost, and our Only Lord and God, and there is Only One Faith and that is Him, and there is Only One Baptism that saves and that is The Baptism that Jesus gives when He sends you the Holy Spirit not water baptism. I hope this helps. May Jesus Our Almighty God bless you.

Jesus says we must be born again of the WATER AND THE SPIRIT.  I understand what some of you are getting at, but you don't put water baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost in the same category as church attendance, tithing, keeping the holiness standards, etc.  Repentance and faith are  "must do's," and you should know that both WATER BAPTISM AND THE HOLY GHOST are necessary for salvation. I put water baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost in the same categoy as repentance and faith since I believe that they are all works of God and not works of men. Some people would like to label us a "legalist" for believing what we do about salvation, but nothing can be further from the truth.

When we are baptized, we are not working to merit God’s salvation, but are surrendering to the grace of God. Notice what Titus 3:5 says:

Titus 3:5 ?B>Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.?BR>

If you’ve ever typed in “Acts 2:38?or “Oneness Pentecostal?in on Google, you’ve probably run into a bunch of trinitarian links that try to refute our beliefs, and most of those links attack our view that baptism is part of salvation. One of the reasons that trinitarians refuse to accept the truth that baptism is essential for salvation is because they believe that baptism is a “work,?and since the Bible teaches that we are not saved by our works, they believe that baptism cannot possibly save us. We see that we run into the same type of thing when we dialogue about spiritual matters with some of our Baptist friends on this board, or people from other churches who believe the same thing that Baptists do about baptism: that it doesn’t save us. But they are dead wrong.

In Titus 3:5, Paul says that we were not saved by any righteous works that we have done, but we were saved by the mercy of God when we were baptized (the washing of regeneration).

We know that the “washing of regeneration?refers to water baptism since, Strong’s 3067 defines the Greek word “loutron,?which is interpreted “washing?in the King James, as either “bathing,?“bath,?or “the act of bathing.?The only literal way to interpret this passage is to interpret the “bathing?as being an immersion in water.

Titus 3:5 teaches us that baptism is not our own work, and the following passages teach us that baptism is God’s work:

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.?BR>
Acts 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.?BR>
Acts 2:47 “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.?BR>
Notice that when the 3000 were baptized in Jesus?name and were inserted into the church, God was the one who added them to the church; they did not work their way in.

Baptism is a something we must do, and yes, we are saved by grace through faith.
However, faith alone doesn't save us. Faith without works is dead, and I don't see anyone in scripture who was saved having dead faith. In one sense baptism is a "work," and at the same time, in another sense, baptism is not a work of the law. I think that it is not an active work, meaning that it is not something we actively do to try win the favor of God (a work of the law). I believe that it is a passive work in the same sense that tongues are--us speaking in tongues is something we "do" but we only do it becasue God is doing it through us; when we speak in tongues, God is actively doing the whole thing. Likewise, in one sense, being saved by baptism is something we "do" since we make the decision to yield to it, but we are only saved at baptism becasue God works in us during our baptism.

Colossians 2:12-13 (NASB) “having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,?BR>
This passage reveals to us that baptism is “the working of God,?and that God is the one who has “made us alive together with [Christ]?when we were baptized, not us.

Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.?

Jam 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jam 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Jam 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Salvation by baptism:

1. Is not a salvation of ourselves

2. Is a gift of God

3. Is not a salvation by works

4. Is a salvation where God is the one doing the work

Even Martin Luther, who modern promoters of the “salvation by faith alone?doctrine often like to quote, and model much of their theology after, realized that the two concepts of salvation by baptism and salvation not being of works do not contradict one another, since baptism is not our work but God’s.

1 John 2:15-17

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

Zeph 3:17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Ecc. 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Inoous, when the scriptures say there is one Lord, One faith, and one baptism, the WORD is saying that there is only ONE WAY to be baptized, one true doctrine (the Apostles doctrine), and ONE GOD!  That is APO belief all the way.

The bible states:

  • Without faith, it is impossible to please God
  • Faith comes by hearing of the word
  • Faith alone will not save us
  •  Faith without works is dead

By faith, we will be baptized in Jesus name, and filled with the Holy Ghost.

Apostolic Baretta let me help you out a little on water baptism if I may since I have a little bit of time.Baptize was used by the Jews in a way in which Gentiles could become Jewish. It involved a number of things, including circumcision, a covenant meal, the agreement to obey Jewish law, and a ritual bath. The term used to describe the bath was bapto, meaning immerse. Persons desiring to become Jewish would baptize thmselves.. The bath was a outward sign that they were dying to the old life as a Gentile and were being resurrected to the new life as a Jew. As a pledge of allegiance to the new identity, those who desired to adopt the Jewish faith as their own participated by baptizing themselves as a sign of their commitment.

What happened next  Apostolic Baretta involved John the Baptist. John got his name because of what people saw him doing. His unique role of baptizing other people was something that had never been done before, so it was natural that people came to watch.

Baptism was  a public observance whereby a person was immersed for the sake of a religious decision.

From the very beginning Apostolic Baretta,  baptism represented the ideas of identification and allegiance. Remember how the Gentiles I just explained earlier were changing their identity? Once they baptized themselves, they were no longer Gentiles; they were Jews. People who were baptized by John were identifying with John's teaching for repentance. That is why Apostolic Baretta that Jesus allowed Himself to be baptized by John. The identiity factor is underscored in Acts where we find that those who were baptized to identify with John were rebaptized in Jesus's name in order to identify with Jesus. Therefore, one reason for baptism is that we publicly identify with Jesus's teachings.

Secondly Apostolic Baretta, baptism is a picture that carries the weight of cleansing and resurrection and allegiance. The visual picture of baptism represents 1. cleansing from the sin of the old life; 2. dying to the old life and being born to a new life; 3 a sign of commitment or allegiance to a new Master or way of life. This visual picture of an inward decision is best summed up for me in this sentence" I am not ashamed." Baptism is the believer's declaration to the world Apostolic Baretta that Christ is the standard by which he or she intends to live.

Another reason  a believer should be baptized is that Jesus commanded us to be baptized, and following in obedience should be a part of every believer's life. You know the Great Commission, in which Jesus instructed the remaining eleven disciples to go therefore and make disciples........baptizing them. The disciples were instructed to lead people to know Jesus as Saviour our God and then to baptize them as a sign of their allegiance and identification with Him. As obediant children Apostolic Baretta we must consider baptism as the next step after salvation, one that should be taken without delay.

Baptism is an act of obediance Apostolic Baretta whereby the believer identifies with Christ. Believing in Christ comes first, then baptizing. Remember Pauls says in 1Corinthians 1:17, " For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel."

Baptism should be a part of every believer's experience, but it is not a requirement for salvation. Since obedience is an integral part of becoming a mature follower of Christ, baptism is something that every believer should participater in.

Baptism Apostolic Baretta is about publicly identifying with Christ. It is an act of obedience. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to align oneself with Christ and what Jesus lived and died for.

I hope this helps you some Apostolic Baretta. May Our God Jesus bless you

Saved means SAVED! It means delivered from a fate that, without Jesus Christ, would result in HELL for all those that do not obey the scriptures, the WORD, and His voice. It means to be preserved.  Unless we have a Savior......One who paid the penalty for our sins.....we are UNSAVED and headed for death!

Yes, salvation is a gift.  The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.  But can we get in and not be obedient?  Do you speak with confidence....even boldness.....about things you have been taught by deceivers, when those things are not found in God’s Word?

There is one salvation plan.  The Word of God.  “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that [the faith] not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  We must BELIEVE, REPENT, and OBEY the Word....
