Thank you Holdontojesus010. I am glad you mentioned Hebrews 10:26  and I will cover it for you and teach you alittle bit.  Lets begin shall we.

Hebrews 10:26-31 saids For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving th knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expection of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said,"Vengeance is Mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge His people." It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Here I am going to go with your argument since you think that it means here that you can lose your salvation in this passage. I will only assume for this moment Holdontojesus010 that yours is the proper interpretation of this passage. Several questions immediately surface. For instance, if we take the passage at face value- without qualifying it as many do- and intentional or willful sin we commit after we have received the truth eliminates our potential for being forgiven. After all, if forgiveness comes through a sacrifice for sin, and there is no more sacrifice for sin, there is no forgiveness.
Then One may argue," This passage applies onlly to thoe whose lifestyle is characterized by sin." In other word, ther remains a sacrifice for sin if there are only a few sins or if they are spread out over time. The problems here are twofold. First, nothing in the Greek text justifies a translation implying that the author has a lifestyle in mind here. The King James Version is the most accurate when it says," If we sin willfully." Again, anyone who sins willfully cannot expect another sacrifice for sins.
Second, the Bible never makes a distinction between which sins Christ's death paid for. If there is a sacrifice for a few sins, why not a sacrifice for all the sins a Christian commits? Paul's point is clear: There is no more sacrifice for sins of any kind for anybody. He writes,

Hebrews 10:12-14 said But He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet. For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

Jesus is out of the sacrificing business. He is waiting seated as God. The next time He stand up, He will assume the role of a Judge, not a Lamb. If this passage teaches that willful sin results in the loss of salvation, it also teaches that salvation is lost over one willful sin. Furthermor, once it is lost, it is lost forever because there is no more sacrifice for sin.
Since Holdontojesus010 you use such passages to validate your disbelief in Once Saved Always Saved you obviously didn't take your interpretations to their logical ends. I have never met anyone since I have been a Christian to believe that a Christian could lose salvation ONCE AND FOR ALL over any single willful sin.

As you see here Holdontojesus010 I even took into account and assumed that you was right and showed that it was wrong by logic.

May Jesus Our God Almighty bless you Holdontojesus010.

Here I will give you another view HoldtoJesus010.Lets begin shall we.
The passage begins with the word for, which relates it to what immediately preceded it. In the verses leading up to the warning, Paul encourages his audience to follow through with their commitment to  Christ in light of all He has done for them. Paul makes two particularly important statements in this post:

Hebrews 10:22 said Let us draw near with a sincere heart... having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

And then Paul declares,

Hebrews 10:23 said Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, For He who promised is faithful

Following these verses, Paul applies the principles within them:

Hebrews 10: 24-25- And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.

The day he mentions is the second coming of Christ. The logical questions after these words of exhortation and encouragement would be, But what if we do waver? What if we don't follow through? What will happen if we drop out of the fellowship? Anticipation their questions, he describes exactly what they could and could not expect.

Remember, the people in the audience are primarily Jewish. All their lives they had waited for a Messiah. One who would come and take away their sins. One who would estableish a new covenant, a convenant so powerful that as a result God would forget their sins forever as it saids in Hebrews 10:17.

Whereas we today look back to the Cross for forgiveness, these men and woman were in the habit of looking ahead for forgiveness. When we sin, we are grateful Christ has forgiven us. When they sinned, they were hopeful that the Messiah would on day come and forgive them. As you can imagine with me HoldontoJesus010, this would have been a difficult habit for them to break. The fact that they had never seen Christ or heard Him teach would have made it especially difficult.
In keeping with his theme of Christ as Messiah, Paul takes this opportunity to remind his audience yet another time that the sacrifice they had been awaiting had already taken place. Now I am paraphrasing HoldontoJesus010, "If you willfully sin, remember that the next scheduled event is and enxounter not with Christ the Saviour but with Christ the Judge."
The statement "There no longer remains a sacrifice for sins" is not meant to be negative. The writer says the same thing in verse 18. There the mood of the text is clearly positive. It is good news. The bad news is that God is not fond of quitters.

Verse 27 immediately brings to minc 1 Corinthians 3. Once again a biblical writer uses the coming judgement as motivation for godly living. The imagery of fire is neither new nor inappropriate here, for the Christian will be tried by fire. Notice, too, that the fire here is connected not with punishment but with judgement HoldontoJesus010.

At this point Paul takes advantage of his audience's extensive knowledge of the law to illustrate the severity of this judgment. In essence he says, "If you think it was bad for those who despised the law, imagine how bad it will be for those who despised Jesus our LawGiver!"
In verse 29 Paul exposes the willful sin of the believer for everything it is. No doubt his readers were shocked as they read this description. Like us, they had overlooked the implications of sin. They had not realized the insult to the grace of God and the blood of Christ that every sin carried with it. Now they understood the severity of the coming judgment. They were beginning to understand the implications of being post-Cross believers. It was one thing to sin knowing that one day the Messiah would come and do away with sin's penalty. It was another thing altogether to sin after the penalty was paid.
Many penalties are worse than death. This truth is especially easy to comprehend when we think in terms of eternity. Everyone is  going to die; even righteous men die. To stand at the judgment seat of Christ and see our works burned to ashes would be a "much severer punishment" than death which it shows in Hebrews 10:29. For believers who live for themselves with little or no thought for the things of God, it will certainly be a "terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Let me say this is a Warning passage HoldontoJesus010. It is not, however, a warning to believers that their salvation is in jeopardy. The context and the details of the text rule that out as a valid interpretation.
Paul is warning his Jewish audience of the consequenxes of willful disobedience to Christ. They can no longer justify their sin in the light of the coming Messiah. He has already come. In their next encounter wiht the Messiah, He will stand as a Judge who will hand down decisions based on the new covenant.
These verses stands as a stern warning to non-Jewish believers today as well. I am reminded that every moment and every decision counts. Nothing goes unnotice. And for those who think that they are getting by with something, recall these words:"It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Question for you HoldontoJesus010 If there is no longer any sacrifice for sins, and the sacrifice for sins took place at Calvary, for which of your sins was sacrifice made?

As you can see that Your verses that you gave HoldontoJesus010 is not a correct interpretations. I encourage you to read more in depth the Word of God and study more.

May Jesus show you HoldontoJesus010 that what I am saying to you is the truth. May Our Lord God Jesus bless you HoldontoJesus010 and to all APO's here

Ace I explained Hebrews 10: 26-27 in post 20 and post 21 read and enjoy and I even used your own claim that it means you can lose your salvation against you. Please read carefully and not just glance over them. I am trying to get you to study more indepth on the verses. I even started out first in Post 20 with the assumptions you was right and took all your claims to the verses with logic and it didn't pass at all. May Jesus Our God bless you Ace as you read these post.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-22

You can still act just like this even having the Holy Ghost friend, You can loose that which God gave you, Salvation is a gift and one can loos a gift, Just ask King Saul when God took the Holy Ghosy away from him when he refused to do that which God commanded him

Your eternal security does not exist in my Bible

EhudsLeftHand you have a right to believe what you think the scriptures said .   I know what  the Word of God said. I know what flesh manifests because when I was a Satanist I did those things and enjoyed them and had no remorse. Now as a Christian I have power  by the Holy Spirit over those things of the flesh and don't do those things but do the fruits of the Holy Spirit instead because I am not a slave to sin anymore and it don't have dominion over me anymore.  Ehud  My eternal security rest in Jesus Hands and if Jesus wants to have mercy on me and save me than its up to him not up to me or you or anybody else to say a person is going to hell  . I just have confidence in my God Jesus  and thats all I am saying and my fruits bear it.  I will let Jesus be the Judge and  decide whether he wants  to save me  and save you or Ace or whoever and also decide to show mercy to us if He wants to. Ace I do listen to you  friend by the way .  We should see a change in a person that is a Christian if they are saved and I know from the experience I had  when Jesus revealed himself to me  what happened that day and who I was before that day  and  Who I am now after Christ changed me  and gave His Own Spirit to dwell in me that day. Jesus hasn't left me since that day and that was over seven years ago and I no longer am a slave to sin like I was before I was saved.  My fruits bear witness that the Holy Spirit dwells in me and that I am a child of God. My friends and family can tell you that and people that knew me before can tell you who I use to be and who I am now after Christ has  changed me and that He is continuing to mold me in the way he wants me to be. And that is more like Him.

May Our God Jesus bless you EhudsleftHand

Once Saved, Always Saved
NOT TRUE!

Pastor J.W.Peeler

  1. Luke 9:62 - And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
  2. Hebrews 3:5-19 - Only two men that were over twenty years old went into the promised land out of three to five million. They all started and God is no respector of persons because of their unbelief and wanting to go back to Egypt most of their bones were bleached in the desert.
  3. I Corin. 9:24-27 - Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.  And every man that striveth for the mastery is  temperate in all things.  Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.  I therefore so run,. not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
  4. Hebrews 3:5-19 - The church was predestined before the foundation of the world but not the individual.
  5. Hebrews 4:1-19 - Read.
  6. Hebrews 6:1-8 - For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again under repentance; seeing they crucified to themselves the son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meat for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: but that which beareth thorns and briars is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing: whose end is to be burned.
  7. Ezekiel 3:17-21, Ezekiel 18:20-32, Ezekiel 33:7-20.  The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
  8. Hebrews 10:38,39 - Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soulshall have no pleasure in him.  But we are not of them that draw back into perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
  9. II Peter 2:1-22 - Read.
  10. Jude 1-19, Read.
  11. Revelation 2:5 -Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
  12. Revelation 2:20-23 - Not withstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.  And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
  13. Revelation 3:2,3 - Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.  Remember therefore how thy hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent.  If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
  14. Revelation 3:15-19 -  It's possible to be lost if we don't repent.
  15. Matt. 12:43-45 - When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places seeking rest, and findeth none.  Then he saith, I will return into thy house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.  Then goeth he, and taketh with him self seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worst than the first.  Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.  When we repent and are baptized we had better be filled with the Holy Ghost.  Because we will be filled with something.
  16. Matt. 24:11-13 - And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure to the end the same shall be saved.  Predestination for the individual is false.  The church is predestined.
  17. Matt. 25.1-13 - They once had oil in their lamps.  They arose and trimmed their lamps.
  18. Matt. 25:14-30 - This man was once saved, but he was lost because of fear.
  19. Luke 8:4-18 - Read.  Some started out but didn't make it for various reasons.
  20. Luke 12:39,40 - It is possible to be caught off guard.
  21. Luke 13:6-9 - No fruit, cut it down.
  22. Luke 17:32 - Remember Lot's wife.  She started and looked back and became a pillar of salt.  Jesus use her as a warning to the Christian today, not to look back to the world.
  23. Luke 21:34-36 - And take heed to thyselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come up on you unawares.  For as a snare shall it come on all of them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the son of man.
  24. John 8:31,32 - Then said Jesus to those Jews that believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
  25. John 15:1-11 - We must abide in the vine, abide in Christ, continue to keep his commandments.  Salvation is conditional.  John 15:10, If ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my fathers commandments, and abide in his love.
  26. Galatians 5:1-7 It's possible to fall from grace.
  27. The Jewish Nation will be saved, but not every Jew.  Isaiah 45:17, Romans 11-26,27 All Israel will be saved that are walking with God.  Not every individual.
  28. The church is predestined before the foundation of the world.  God will have a church. John saw the church in heaven.  The church is predestined but not the individual.  Romans 8:29,30, Romans 9:6, Ephesians 1:5-11 the church was predestined:  but not the individual. Its possible for the individual to back slide and go back on God and be lost. Matt. 10:22, Hebrews 10:26, John 15:1-11, Ezekiel 3:17-21, Ezekiel 18:20-32, Ezekiel  33:7-20, II Peter 2:20-22, Jude 24, It's possible to fall.  Romans 11:21, I Corin. 10:1:12, Romans 11:21,22,  Paul was writing to saints.  I Peter 2:4, Luke 13:1-5, Luke 21:34-36, Luke 9:62, Luke 13:6-9, John 15:1-10 We must abide in the vine.  We must keep his commandments.  Rev. 22:18,19, Matt. 24:9-13 He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  Luke 17:32 She started to safety, but she looked back, and became a pillar of salt.

good post ouden. Southern Belle I have full confidence and trust in my God Jesus Christ and those verses you gave prove the opposite of what your trying to make them read. sorry you don't want me to trust fully in my Gods grace and mercy that he showed a horrible Satanist that I was before Jesus came to me and revealed himself to me.I will let Jesus be the one over my Salvation and decide how much mercy and grace he wants to show me not you. My fruits bear that I am a child of God. Jesus changed me completely and the Holy Spirit does the works through me now. may jesus our God bless you all
