I have noticed a weird taste in the back of my throat, sort of like I had just smoked a cigarette, it is starting to happen more frequently... My boyfriend even said he could "smell" it on me... he wanted to know if I had "cheated" and taken a puff....
I keep reading about side effects from quitting but I haven't seen or read anything about the sensation of "smoke in my throat"....
I feel great not smoking, and look forward to my body getting back to "normal"
The taste and the smell may very likely be happening because you are clearing tars out of your lungs from having quit. Here are a few posts that explain the healing that occurs that can cause that reaction:
