Hello Tom:

Thanks for your offer to help. If you look at post number two, you will see that I am not personally tied to terms or concepts like "oldbie" or "newbie." I use them both very sparingly. The only time that I can recall using the "newbie" term in a title of a string is in the Tell a newbie how many seconds a day you still want a cigarette string. The same comments I made to PF above applies to you. You have been around the board much and from what I can see, you have been working at reading and learning much of what we have made available at the site.

So don't get too concerned that you have not been off for years. You still have a lot to offer to new quitters. Also, in your real world encounters be aware, you likely understand more about quitting and staying free than most of the people you know who are off for years and maybe even decades. Try to pass along the understanding to these people to that the way that they can be assured that they will keep their quit is to make and stick to their own personal commitment now to never take another puff.

Joel
