I am going to attach a series of links below that address the questions you have posed. First is an article on blood sugar issues that you may be experiencing when first quitting. Then is an link to a string that shows you how much longer-term quitters really think about smoking as time progresses. Then there are a series of articles that explain why smoking thoughts can still occur over time and the best ways to get them under control when they do occur. Hope this all helps to help you to understand what is happening and how to be able to stick to a new found commitment to never take another puff.
