Heat oil in large pot and saute onion till translucent, add garlic, cook 1 minute more. Add kraut, carraway seed, tomatoes. Place potatoes in single layer on top. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer for about 30 minutes (or less) till potatoes are tender. Stir all together , add sausage, cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
