Fig is 11 years old. If she is up to me getting him before May then I will but so far, this is the plan so she can get settled with her new baby .

Patti, Don't hold out too much hope. Can you imagine giving up a family member that's been with you for 11 years? It's tough, heartbreaking and almost unbearable to live with.....

(this from someone who lives it every day!)

But keep in touch with the new mom to be, keep all avenue's open. Let her know whatever she does decide you'll realize it's the best for Figaro and your door and heart will always be open to give him the love and care as did she. it won't be easy on Figaro having a new baby in the home, a new competition and hopefully he won't acquire any issues... if he does those can be worked through with patience.

Hi,
I agree with you. 2 years ago she couldn't do it. Now with her 3rd child she offered him to me before she put the ad in the paper - I was hesitate but then said yes. If she says she can't let go, I will fully understand again. I know it is hard and he was her baby and she still loves him dearly. She has nothing bad to say at all about him only good things. She spent alot of money on him, the cage and parrot tree only cost over $1500 and feeds him Harrison food only which tells me she is really good to Fig. So we will have to see, if not, we will be content with our own parrots.
