Just thought I would say hi to everyone, havent been on in awhile, but trying to read some of the post.

Fig is doing great still. I picked him twice now and he is letting me play with him. He hangs from his play stand with his back laying in my hand. I tickle him on his stomach and go tickle tickle. I bet someday he will say tickle tickle! i just love playing with him!

Question for all of you amazon owners - how often do you spray them/bath them. So far,I do one good bath on the weekend. He is nice and clean so I am thinking this is good enough. How often do you all do the spraying?

Thanks
Pattu

I give mine showers daily in the warm months and then when they are indoors over the cooler weather weeks I soaked them in the shower every other day... Due to having so many to take into the shower daily...

I did buy an automatic mister and still haven't tried it out...

Not only will you love the mister, they will too!!
I put dishes of water and aloe vera in each of the cages every morning.... just before I turn the vacuum on to pick up the chips of whatever was flung the day before. That seems to be the call for everyone to hop in and splash.
When they are out on the deck, I remove the seed catchers from under the cages and let the mister take care of things, then hose the deck down after they are in for the night.
Even during the winter they have the option daily of bathing. Some days they do, some they don't, but all of them like to fling the water on me as I pass by. Then they laugh!

I run the vacuum cleaner also....everyone jumps in the bath.  When they are finished, I have an aloe vera feather spray that I spray them with, and they all hold their wings out for a spritz.  I've also put aloe vera in bath water, but I sometimes "do this" and sometimes "do that".  Just depends what I have on hand.  The greys picked this spring, but Maggy is now fully feathered, and Pepper's chest is grown back in, but she's still picking her legs.
