Hi all,

My brother in law was killed night before last. It was a 10:30 pm and he was headed home from work. A 24 year old, also just off work, was speeding and came over a hill across the center line. Gerry was killed instantly. He was wearing his seat belt and both airbags deployed but the impact to too great. The 24 yo was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the car and engulfed in flames. He died at the hospital.

My sister has lots of people staying with her including my 2 nephews so my delaying 1 day is ok. (I'm going to drive to Ft Wayne to pick up my brother and then head up to Janesville WI.)

I know she's going to make it through all this but it's going to be hard. Ger had all the finances on the computer and Deb has no idea where anything is. Christian, her oldest, is doing a pretty good job of finding things on the 'puter and the funeral home is helping find out about Gerry's life insurance etc from GM.

I'll probably check in here again later today or tonight. I appreciate your prayers.

Pam

Oh Pam, my very deepest sympathy to your sister and your entire family. This kind of death is such a shock. The young man's family is hurting, too.
Blessings to all of you.

Annie

Pam, I'm so sorry! I saw this the other day but couldn't answer as my keyboard was dead. Please give my sincere condolances to your sister and their children. This really hits home as I lost both my mother and little sister in an accident in 1982. Di is right, it never goes away when you lose someone very suddenly. I don't think there is a day when they are far from my mind, but the pain does ease with time. The shock and horror of it fades some. If there is anything I can do, please just let me know.
