Last night Erika was talking with Bill. He is up in North Carolina, as his mother had surgery yesterday to remove a tumour from her colon, and they also did a small hernia repair. She is doing well, although she was still in ICU. Barring complications her doctor anticipated taht shw would go to a regular ward today. Bill, please tell your mother that we are praying that she has quick and complete recovery. Abby |

I hope you have speedy recovery and feel much better than before your surgery. I also pray that no more of those tumors appear. |

Thanks all for your prayers. They moved Mom to a private room this afternoon. She has been up in a chair a couple times, and got her first meal since surgery (clear liquids), so the doctor apparently is satisfied with her progress and healing. Has not been in too much pain, other when she coughs. Still not sure when she will be able to come home--original estimate was 5-7 days, but with the stay in ICU it may be a bit longer. Bill |

Pleasant surprise today for all concerned-not only did she get solid foods for dinner, but the doctor is planning on releasing her Monday or Tuesday if she continues her recovery. Tests on the lymph nodes removed at time of surgery were negative, so the tumor had not spread and she won't have to undergo any further treatment other than regular checkups. I'll be heading back to Georgia tomorrow-my sister is back in town and will be staying with her as long as needed. Bill |

Still having a little trouble with solid food, but doing better. Up and walking now and if she manages to keep the next couple meals down and shows some activity in her bowels, he's going to let her go home. Bill |

Mom came home today-doing fine and eating anything and everything in sight, according to my sister. She had steak and baked potato for supper (I should have stayed there), and has been walking around the house constantly. Doctor told her not to sit in a comfortable chair as he wanted her up and moving around. No further treatment planned other than normal checkups. From Mom and myself: thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. Bill |
