As most of you know, Di is scheduled for hip replacement surgery at 9:15 am PDT on Tuesday, July 1st. A few days ago Di told me that she and Don will be saying a praying on Monday evening in preparation for the surgery. I copied the prayer and changed it slightly so that we could agrtee in prayer on Monday evening. Abby THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY Prepare Diana, O God, for tomorrow. She would be cleansed As the surgeon’s hands are cleansed; Wash away the last small sin And let her touch nothing that would Mar that purity. Calm Diana, O God, for tomorrow. Let our faith increase ?BR>Faith in You ?Faith in Diana’s doctors ?BR>Faith in Diana. Let Diana sleep without fear, Relaxed ?serene -- secure; Give Diana inner poise, And peace ?BR>Such tranquillity as would Be evident in a child Of Yours. Amen For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. - Matthew 18:20 |

I just got off the from talking with Di. She is doing well, although she hasn't been able to get up much, or do any walking yet. She feels faint when she tries, but the doctor isn't concerned so she isn't either. Anyway, I said hi to her from everyone and gave her our love! Abby |

Thanks for the update, Abby. I hope Di will be up and around soon. Wonder what Twiggy will have to say about her walker? No telling! We love you, Di! Logan |

Very glad to hear things are going well. I wonder if the faintness is remnants of the anesthesia, or just pure exhaustion from so many weeks/ months in pain ? I don't have experience with hip surgery, but when my mom had knee replacement- they did have her start PT in under 24 hours from the surgery. She went to rehab for a while before heading home. |

Has anyone talked to Di since Wednesday? I hope she is up and at 'em now. Am I remembering correctly? Did she tell us that she has a therapist coming to the house after she's home so she won't have to stay in rehab? Annie |

Actually, Erika and I had a conference call with Di last night. It was looking like she would be going home today. She feels she can manage at home with help as the care in the hospital is not stellar. Di seemed in good spirits, and as always, very positive! Abby |

Erika and I spoke briefly with Di this evening in msn msgr. She says that she is home, but exhausted. Her sister arrived today, and will likely be there until next Saturday or Sunday. Di says that the surgery went very well, but because she has extremely sensitive skin, she has hive-like things on her back, from her neck to her knees, likely from the disinfectants used in the bedding. Poor Di!! Anyway, she seemed cheerful and upbeat, but tired. Welcome home, Diana!!! We've missed you like the Dickens!! Love, Abby |

It was good to see her IM thingie pop up....wasn't it! I'm so glad you got to speak with her a while. I had to say hi to her, ask how she was and tell her how glad we are to see her back home....that kind of stuff. Poor gal...she sure has had some tough times! I hope she can mend quicker at home with tender loving care. Keeping up the prayers, Dale. |
