I'm very suprised at my new Cockatoo I was expecting a bird that screamed constantly and need constant attention. I think he has been very well trained as he will play for hours in his cage with his toys I go in every hour or so to say hello he love to show off and show me what hés playing with likes to have someone watch  him play. he doe have a little screaming sestion first thing in the morning like all birds and every now and then Fergie and him have  a couple of contact calls.  other than that he's pretty good at entertaining himself . When he is out of his cage its a bit different he likes to walk around and won't stay on his play stand so I'm definatly going to have to be persistant to make him stay on his Play stand I don't like him wandering. Anybody got any Ideas how to make him stay. I been doing some research on Cockatoos but could sure use some advice from a few Cockatoo owners I don't want to betry the trust we are biulding. I already love him to peices and I've only had him for 2 day what a wonderful bird    Pat

I can't say as I have any advise either as far as the exploring goes. Kit is a very nosy 'Too. He wants to know all that is going on in the house and in the yard. What everyone & everybird is doing. He loves letting other birds out of their cages, and especially like getting in with the baby tiels. He adores trying to open things.. tubs, buckets, tins, bottles, jars... and many other things.

I wouldn't be so bad if he woul fly off his cage then I would hear him and know what he was up too. He has full wings, but no this guy is so quiet about it climbs down his cage in stealth mode and I find him in the kitchen on top of my conure cages. The only reason he gets caught is because Luna my Fiery Shouldered Conure tells on him when he gets up on her cage she takes flight and heads strait for me to save her from this huge bird that just climbed up on her cage pat
