As you know I just got a citron crested Cockatoo he is only 14 inches long and I'm worried that he's under weight by quite a bit. When I first got him he weighed 393 gr and he has gained some weight he weighs 401 grams now. My question is what would be a good weight for him His Keel bone does stick out but he does have some meat on his breast just not enough.   Pat

Here is a link on the average weights of your Tyco. According to this he's right where he should be.  We are such worriers when it comes to our feathered babies aren't we?? http://www.aviancompanions.com/Citron%20Crested%20Cockatoo.htm

I'm sorry Pat, I have heard that it is a big insult to forget someones name and that applies to our birds. For that I apologize, I get my boy's names mixed up on a regular basis, they just laugh at me!! It's called sometimers!!!

Mr.Magoo is just fine I am sure Pat.A friend of mine has his Citron at the pet store where he is manager and I got to see him on Saturday I just love this citron he is so funny laughing all the time and swinging upside down.Anyways his Citron (Peaches) has a flat tummy area I thought maybe he was underweight but his owner said he weighted 429 so that is a healthy weight ok so he needs to drop a few grams....lol
I still love the name Mr.Magoo who ever named him had a great personality

I agree and she also made him into the most wonderful companion he doesn't scream he plays by himself for hours and when you do have a little time to spend with him he is the mosy cuddleiest loveing little friend anyone could ever want now if I could just stop Fergie from screaming I'd have a pretty quiet house she is the worst I can't leave the romm unless I whistle for the whole time I'm gone and my whistler gets sore.I've created a monster  LOL  Pat
