I was looking for some pictures to help me identify different cockatoos, and I found a list of seventeen different kinds with four subspecies of the Greater Sulphur Crested! Alphabetically, and with their "status" they are:

 Bare Eyed  Common in Australia
 Black Palm  Endangered
 Blue Eyed  Extremely Rare
 Ducorps  Rare
 Galah  Common
 Gang Gang  Rare and Endangered
Glossy Black  Common in its regions, but Endangered
 Goffins  Common
 Major Mitchell  Endangered
 Muloccan  Critically Endangered
 Red-Tailed Black  Uncommon and Endangered
 Red-Vented  Rare
 Slender Billed  Rapidly Declining
Sulphur Crested (Greater)  Common in Australia
 - Triton  Common but "Endangered"
 - Elenora  Common but "Endangered"
 - Lesser Sulphur Crested  Common
 - Citron Crested  Critically Endangered
 Umbrella  Endangered
 White-Tailed Black  Uncommon and Endangered
 Yellow-Tailed Black  Uncommon and Endangered

I like your listing and I wonder what year it was printed as that is interesting the U2 is endangered...

The Bare Eye over here is the Little Corella ... I caught a few shots of the Slender Bills at Anita's feeder but now that she has changed "video cam's" I can't take any pics...

I have the Lexicon of Parrots- Cockatoos- and I counted 46 ... this includes as you mentioned the subspecies.... I hadn't looked at that CD in a long time.... I sure do love those Too's and there was a time I only had that species of bird...

I am partial to them and feel I can "read" the little devils, inside and out.

Well, Toolady, why do you think you are called "Toolady"?? lol  And even sometimes "Toolday" - remember when I kept making that typo? So funny! lol

I'll have a hunt later and see what else I can come up with. I'd like to do a list that shows the "also known as" names as well. And put where the originated as well.

Abby
