Hi ya all!  I need help quickly here......I just bought a Bear Eyed Cockatoo, 4 yrs. old & a male.  I went in the pet store and saw him, and of course went over & started talking to him and OMG!  He was all over me!  Really done some showing off and was rubbing his head all over my shoulder & arm and dancing, making all kinds of sweet little sounds and nobody else has been able to get him to do those things, so of course, I bought him & the cage.  Going back shortly to pick him up.  But does anyone have any experience with these too's?  He was so loving & so affectionate!  Tomorrow I'm taking him to the Vet to get his wings clipped & nails cut & have him checked over to make sure he's ok.  And I realize that he will need some time to get adjusted, but what I want to know is - - will he make me a good pet?  Help!

I've tried to put it in my folder & yours and I still keep getting this message from the MSN Upload Tool thing that says "You have a new image in this folder.  The Converter is downloading."  And when it quits, there is still nothing, so that has to be the problem.  Wish I could get rid of of that MSN Upload Tool thing & don't know how!

Can you restart the computer and see what happens?

I don't like to use the multi upload as for me it never completes... so I upload one photo at a time......

Tried that too & it still didn't work.  Think I'll go to MSN & see if I can find out how to get rid of the Upload Tool.

My new Vista arrived last Christmas and I hated this operating system until my son (the computer geek) put the Mozilla Firefox program on it.  Perhaps that's the program that Sherry was referring to.  Now it looks and runs just like my old Windows XP .......only much faster, better, and has some great features!  I've pasted the link below.  Read up on it first but since we've been using it, I've heard from a whole lot of folks that did the same thing!

In order to put that on my machine, do I have to remove anything like Windows?  Cause I don't know how to do that, have to find someone.

With this XP that I have I couldn't get FireFox to add photos that easily and I think it was in my emails that it just wouldn't work ... so I deleted it...

Question Layne... can you add photos to the desktop and then from there put them into an album?

and

did you try photobucket to store photos?

Oh good!  No, didn't try photobucket - never heard of that either, but I have to tell you this little guy seems to be doing fantastic for being here less than a week.  He got off his cage onto the back of my chair this afternoon, crawled down on my neck and just started snuggline & cuddling and making little "coo" noises, then climbed right up on my FACE, sat there & started preening his feathers!  Yes, I know, I know, I should never have let him do that no better than I know him yet, but he just seemed to be having such a relaxing, good time, I just laid there & let him walk around on.  He then stayed on my shoulder while I went to the basement to throw in another load of clothes in the washer, came back up & done just fine!

He does sound as if he feels right at home and what a comfort to you both... And the bonding begins in earnest...

Have you weighed him again? Do you have a name?
No name baby here is holding his weight at around 270 grams and I have a feeling this is about all he'll weigh... Mike gives him a comfort feeding at bedtime which puts him up by whatever amount he eats... And he's a great little eater, tries everything which is a blessing....

I called the Vet on Tues. and they said they had him down as weighing 283 grams.  Haven't come up with a name yet - just know that neither one of us is crazy about "Patches".  Doesn't seem to fit him at all! lol
Don't know how your getting yours to try new things, this one won't eat anything but the seeds (bird food).  When I put things in his dish or even another dish on his cage, he just throws it all out!  I've even tried to hand him brocoli, blueberries, etc. and he won't take it - he bites my finger instead! ha ha  So I quit that.  Don't know what to do to get him to try something new.  I've never had a problem with all my other birds taking stuff from me.  Is this a Too your talking about?
Also found out from the previous owner that this one is more like 3 yrs. old instead of 4.
