What is planned at your house... and who will be there? I am having the dinner here (wish I weren't) and it will be hetic with so many cooks in the kitchen.. My son the nutritionist will have keep in mind no calorie count or balamced diets on Thursday... Not that you'd guess looking at either himself or Donna...lol The girls will have to go back earlier, Friday and Saturday due to their flocks... I hope mine keep a lid on it, especially Magnolia... We'll have Turkey, ham, sweet pots, salads, corn, green bean casserole, pots and gravy, stuffing, pumkin pies and bread, mincemeat pie, apple pie and I'm sure I've forgotten what else... Oh goodness, cranberry sauce!! |

Oh it all sounds good! It will just be the 4 of us & my mother-in-law for sure. We'll make up a care package for Michael's Great-Uncle and take it to him as he is no longer able to get in and out of either our van (heck, I even have trouble getting in/out of it!) or my mil's Subaru. Michael's nephew may come by with his wife & baby. He wasn't sure. We'll have Turkey, stuffing, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, corn, green beans w/ butter & toasted slivered almonds, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread, yeast rolls, chocolate chess pie, apple pie and pumpkin pie (whipped cream too). I'd debated making my pecan pie as well, but I'm the one who likes it most. m-i-l will eat a piece or two, but Michael & the boys don't like it. I sure don't need ¾ of a pie! I'm cooking the turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed pots, and the pies. M-i-l is doing the dressing, sweet pots, cornbread & veggies. Etta, I have a pumpkin roll recipe, including the cream cheese filling if you want it. Sherry, I love to cook, and especially bake. I'd sure come help if we lived close enough! |

Our plans will be to have a nice dinner out this year. While I will miss the tradition of making a huge meal and being surrounded by friends and family, this will have to suffice this year. Perhaps it may be a new tradition since our relocation! We'll have to see. Whatever the holiday brings forth, I have so much to be thankful for!! This year more then ever has reminded me of that fact! A new appreciation for life and everything that goes with it!! From my family to yours, please enjoy the joy, peace, and festivities of the holiday!! *HUGS* Crystal

I have to work tomorrow night :(( but John is going to my sister's and her family for the evening Thanksgiving feast. Sometimes, I hate my job especially on the holidays but am thankful I have a good job!! We are having our Thanksgiving on Saturday, John, and I , my three boys and his daughter and their families, and my Mom. I think I'm going to fix a rolled rump roast since everyone will be pretty much turkeyed out by then. Also, probably mashed potatoes w/gravy, sugar snap peas, candied sweet potatoes, homemade yeast rolls, deviled eggs, coconut creme and pumpkin pie plus everyone will probably bring a covered dish!! Did I mention I am going to be Grandma again? He is due in April and this one will be # 6. This is my # 2 son's first baby, they have been married since Sept. 2006, and have went thru 2 miscarriages. So if you guys can keep this little guy in your prayers it certainly would be appreciated. Thanks!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!!! Marti Marti |

We are going to friends for the 2nd year in a row. All their family will be there- so expecting 25-30 tomorrow. We actually just got back from there now- took some card tables & chairs & baking pans over this afternoon & stayed for pizza and entertained their daughter for a while. The hosts are doing the deep fried turkey and a ham, and a few side dishes and she already made 6 pies & is on her way to a 3 layer cake tonight. Everyone else is bringing more sides & drinks, and their appetite ! I love going there, because when I walked in last year & saw the food spread out- it was like they had all stolen recipes out of my Mom's and my recipe box. Incredible- so many dishes were familiar & exact recipes that I was used to. I am sure there will be enough food there tomorrow to serve 60 instead of 30. She has her family all bring empty tupperware with them and everyone helps take leftovers home. |

I am making Cheese Squash Casserole. That's it!! Well, maybe we will have a few more things brought over, like ham, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole (ugh), and some other stuff. Some nut forgot to buy rolls so we will eat whole wheat rolls, another ugh. I do have the yummiest pecan pie and punkin pie ready. Already cut into the pecan and it's yummy. I have Peeps, too, if anyone forgets to bring something important. Food is the least of my worries. It's the gettin' together that's the good part of the day. Annie |

My brother and I will spend the day at my Mom's house. We are having a roasting chicken, instead of a turkey, with all the goodies that go with it. We will watch the Seahawks and Cowboys football game. If the game goes like the rest of the season has gone for my beloved Seahawks, by half-time they will be featherless creatures. Then we will watch my favorite college basketball team, Gonzaga play Oklahoma State in a tournament. I have more hope for that game. The dogs and cat will be expecting a little taste of Thanksgiving chicken when I go home in the evening. Kathy |

Happy Thanksgiving to all! We will be going to S-i-l for dinner. She always has this one and I have Christmas dinner. We always have turkey and ham plus all the trimmings. She is an excellent cook and she is 74 yrs. old. I am bring Brocolli casserole. I love pecan pie but would have to eat it all myself! Guess I will just have to settle for the sweet potato pie! Deb |

Someone tell Copper to see if she can sneak Hollywood some turkey leg bone and a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Phoenix would mmmm, and its good the whipped cream for a long time.
I bought a hungryman turkey meal for tonight, but last night while trying to catch dog pee in a pan (yeah she has an infection again) the new neighbor hollered out that dinner was around 5:30 and I best be there. So, I am going next door to join their family for dinner. I asked what to bring and he said just me. So now I have plans for the dinner too.

Thanks Barb, I appreciate the offer. I got two dirty cages cleaned and vacuumed the upstairs. It was their first Thanksgiving that they prepared (and in their new home). They did a wonderful job. It was great smelling and tasting and the company was nice. Their baby was happy to sit and watch. Afterward they tried to give her a taste of the sweetpotato but she made the most awful faces and spit it out, acted like she was gagging and then cried. Poor thing doesn't know what she is missing. It was all good. Linda |

I just finished eating my dinner, and boy was it good My neighbor cooked. She came over yesterday to ask me to their house, if I was going to be alone today. I was sick and in bed when she came over, so we decided she'd bring dinner to me today, instead. Still feeling icky--if I didn't have to get up to take care of birds, I'd have stayed in bed all day. Just got off the phone, talking to Mr. Phoebe. He had to go to Denver for a business meeting, and since his sister lives there, he arranged the meeting for Wednesday so he could spend the holiday with her, as well as his mother was also there, from L.A. He hadn't seen either of them in over 2 years, and wouldn't have another opportunity until June, when they have a big party for his mother's 80th birthday. I'm glad he's been able to visit with both of them. Knowing how suddenly mother's can be taken from our lives, I would never have begged and whined to get him to be here, instead. We'll have our Thanksgiving meal in a couple weekends. Last time he was here, he brought a 17 pound turkey and a huge spiral sliced ham, which are both in the freezer waiting for him And I'll (hopefully) not be sick, so I'll feel more like doing all the cooking, than I would have today Today was also Mr. Phoebe's birthday. |

I missed Thanskgiving too. Was sick the whole week and hardly could move. Standing outside with a puppy every so many hrs was tiring all week in the rain and snow. The kids were little bummed out cause I was sick and didn't cook. Would have been our first Thanksgiving together in a long time. But they already got their list of foods they want for Xmas Eve and Xmas day. Indy |

Indy, I'm sorry you were so sick on Thanksgiving! I hope your Christmas works out much better, so that you can enjoy the day rather than being miserable. Kathy |
