Di, we are using the same type of tree this year too. Opted for the 6ft skinny guy, white twinkler lights, and red, gold, and blue balls. A few nutcrackers standing about and my Christmas table runner! That's it!! Simple, festive, and no mess clean up when it's all over!!
One thing we all agreed that we miss - a fireplace for stockings to be hung. They looked rediculous on the window sill so they are laying under the tree.
