As I'm a new owner of baby lovebirds, I was wondering if any of you know the correct colors of my birds? Kay |

You are so lucky, they look so sweet. If you do a search on Google using the words "lovebird mutations" you will find many sites with which you can use to try to determine the colors. There are so many lovebird colors, all of them very lovely. I hope it's ok to suggest the above on this board, if it's not, please let me know, I don't want to break any rules. I just started posting, though I have been a member since 2004. |

Willow your response is great. Links to certain websites are what managers prefer to check before posting. Annie |

Sorry if I posted something I should not have posted. I have searched the internet for colors and mutations before I posted. But I'm not a breeder and don't really know what to look for. I thought maybe someone who had more experience with the lovebird would have an idea as to what color these babies are. |

Nooooo! Don't be sorry that you posted. I know we've got a couple of folks that breed lovebirds, but not sure if they've seen this or not. I just did a search around my house for my lovebird book--and true to form, I found all of my other reference books including the eclectus one I was looking for a few weeks ago, but don't see my lovebird book anywhere. Ok, check this out: scroll down and see if any of the pictures look like yours. |

Star, your post was just fine as ZM said. I was talking about posting links to other sites that had not been approved by managers, not a pic of your birds. We love those. We have to watch carefully about links because some take us to places we don't want our children to see on this G rated message board. Bird pics are never a problem. The lovies are gorgeous. I am constantly surprised at the variation in colors of mutations of lovies. These are particularly beautiful to me. So soft looking. Annie |

Ok, wow thats great. I would never want to post anything that was not within the rules of the board. I will check those links and try to find photos. These little birds are just so cute. They are growing everyday and they are so active. It sure was something watching them grow from an egg into such beautiful little birds. :) Thanks again. |

Awwww ... they are so sweet, Kay!! I know absolutely nothing about the different kinds of lovies, but I know there are a lot of them. It must have been such a wonderful experience for you to watch those babies growing and changing. It's hard to believe how quickly they change from little turtle-heads (Feathers' description) and aliens, into beautiful feathered birds. Thanks for posting the pictures! Please start up an album when you can, as we all love seeing pictures of members' birds. Abby |

Thank you Solidgold. I was wondering about the colors being Crimino but seems 2 of the birds don't have any sign of any color on them but yellow and the other yellow one has a blue rump. I'm going to see if I can find photos of a Dutch cream.. Thanks for your help. Kay |
