Hey all, me again. My lovebirds have been doing really well and I got their wings clipped about 2 months ago. Now one of them (Venus) is bleeding from under her wings about the same place where she got her wings clipped at. She is also molting. I know that birds can bleed to death and thank god by the time I noticed the blood had clotted. (There was hardly any but it scared me when I checked her out today) I am already planning on taking her to the vet tomorrow morning but is there anything I can do for her in the mean time?
It ended up that my bird had bumped into something or rather and it was a blood feather :(. Doctor said it was ok, they are both just a little on the chubby side. All is well, thanks for the help Iam and thanks for your concern birdlady. :)
I been wondering what real causes a blood feather I know birds have blood
veins and all that but why does the feather that is a connect to the body have
to have blood in it to grow why can't it get the blood from the veins
