I replied in the wrong post while hunring down pixs of my MRH... and I had commented that with thier vision I wondered if the browns were visible all of the time... not only when they are wet and we can observe the variety of colours...

Kath, Beau has rich red on her shoulders. Is that something that is peculiar to females, or does Louie have red there that I can see?

They sure look funny when they are wet, don't they? For some reason, the expressions on their faces when their feathers are all wet, seem to be cranky even when they are not! Beau also looks quite brown when she is wet, but Basil doesn't. Maybe it's the different greens?

Beautiful pics, Kath and Toolady!!

Kath, Beau was 6.5 when she came to me, so I have no experience with baby Hahns Macaws. I didn't know whether the red shoulders was peculiar to females, or whether Louie just didn't have his yet as I knew he was a baby. I almost feel as if I am living Beau's babyhood through seeing pictures and hearing stories of other baby Hahns.

So please ... keep the pictures and stories coming!!!

I'm going to have to try to take some pictures of my three green birds after their baths or showers.
