Can you see him?  He's in the middle of the where the trunk comes together.   He's a baby Brown Thrasher about 3 inches tall.    I went to check the mail right on the other side of the tree...by the gravel road and Mama Thrasher was warning me, so I knew there had to be a baby around...that and she had a big ole bug in her bill.    Had to really look around to find him....then took his pic.  Although I was only about 10 feet away...I couldn't get it any larger.  Maybe Annie can fix it...I tried to make him larger...but just made him blurry.  I don't know where the sibs are or if they even made it.  He came from across that road there..in a thicket not far....but the lady who owns that horse farm has lots of loose cats who prowl the area.

Awww, I can see him. Once we reduce the size for posting here I can't edit them. We need a full size pic to edit without it pixelating. Even then I pixelate a lot trying to crop them way down.

That magnolia is gorgeous. Mine is just about dead. It flowered but the leaves are almost nonexistent.

That tree is magnificent and I love those Magnolia's...

I called my gal after a tree I had in the yard at the other place... only thing was the squirrels would eat off the buds and there went the flower... But raking in those huge leaves was another matter...

To get back to the Thrasher... he is cute... I have numerous nests in the Azalea bushes and I'm sure as many as are in the yard eating the worms or whatever, there has to be some nests of them...

Thanks for sharing Dale...

Thanks....Mom and I love that tree and we are all surprised it has lived all these years of my Dad's mowing habits.  It was about three feet tall when it was planted....at that time my Dad had a very expensive hobby flying a small remote control helecopter.  That thing was 2000.00 at that time...about 25 years ago and was like flying a real one while standing on the ground.  Dad flew that thing all over...and always hit that magnolia tree.  We always thought it was gonna be a gonner one day.  He knocked the top off...I think that's why it has a split trunk.  Now it's beautiful.  There are quite a few trees and shrubs that shared the same fate...the helecopter blades.  Then...he hated mowing....hated going around things...so rode through them.  One year, Deb and I and Mom planted a whole grove of apples.  The next summer....he mowed them all down.  I could have killed him.  Now...he's mowed down four of the trees I've planted......and they have tags on them!  I went out and tagged several trees I wanted him to leave alone...with blue tape.  Mom said one day he asked her..."What are those blue flower looking things all over the place."  Mom had to laugh and tell him...I'm trying to save trees.  LOL
I cringe every time I hear him crank up that big riding mower of his.
The little guy was in a bush closer to the house when we left to go fishing....and wasn't to be found when we got back after dark.  I hope he made it to the house where we have lots of big shrubs...or better yet...to the thicket of woods close by.  He'll be safest there.
