This video just shows how strong an instinct mothering is. Really amazing!

Awwww love is great... especially if it's a mother's love

We had a little white teacup poodle and while hurricane Erin was about to make landfall there was a litter of kittens born under our shed in the back..

Knowing there would be flooding I got the kitties out, have no idea where the mama was, and brought them into the garage.

Our little pooch saw them and decided they were hers and refused to come into the house. Instead she layed beside them in the basket I'd made up for them.
I am so allergic to cats I usually sneeze non stop or if they brush against skin I break out in a rash..

After the hurricane we managed to place them in new homes... I know Sadie must have missed them but a flock of little ducks had been washed ashore so that was her next mothering... and she got along very well with them even though they pecked if she ventured close to their patio door... They'd knock when they wanted feed or human company..

These stories are wonderful. They bring tears every time I see them.

I just read a story on another board of a dog that passed on. The dog had brought fresh kill in (mice, rats, etc.) for an injured owl during it's stay in a shelter, so it had fresh food every day...
