Someone "adopted" 5 ducks for me, for a Ducky Derby up by Seattle.  Picture below is after they've "raced" and they're all getting a bath.  My little guys are somewhere in there. Except for one, who I'm sure was a winner and being treated to a ducky spa treatment and meal.

Here's part of the message I got, when I found out I was an adoptive mom:

"On Sunday our Rotary Club sponsors the Great Kitsap Duck Race.  For a month before the "race", we Rotarians sell duck adoptions for five dollars each.  On the day of the race, we load 25,000 rubber ducks onto a barge.  Each duck has a number on the bottom corresponding to the "adoption certificate" that the lucky person bought.  We dump all the ducks into the bay at Silverdale, and then we help them get to shore with leaf blowers.  They get funneled through a chute and the first one in wins.  The lucky parent of the winning duck gets a new Nissan truck (or cash) and there are other prizes like a cruise and a hot tub plus lots of smaller prizes.   The money from the duck race goes back to the community in the form of grants.  We make about $90K (after expenses) which we then give away over the next year. "

I have been going thru everything in this house so Amy can put all of this junk in her garage sale this weekend. I just got down a huge box of dolls and in it was a rubber duckie. I don't remember him.
He's on the coffee table for now.

Ring, love your wedding ducks. Were they on your cake?
Annie

Nope.  I just got them for Tom cuz I knew there was an outdoor hot tub at the B&B we stayed at, and also a jetted garden tub in the suite.

I must say, using the outdoor hot tub while it was snowing was the neatest thing.  Of course, that also meant that our towels and shoes and coverup/ clothing got frozen   while we were in the tub... so we just RAN for the door of the B&B.

Also, did y'all know there is a Parrot (macaw) rubber duckie ?

If you google :   parrot  "rubber duck"  you can see it on amazon dot com- the Celebriduck .  All the Jimmy Buffet "parrot heads" (fans) must love this guy.  I bought one from a birdie supply place.  It is quite large.

At the Bama Lounge on the border of AL and FL, Jimmy Buffet had his "bird" at the bar and everytime someone spoke the macaw would start bobbing and turning around...

Ivan took the Lounge out to sea so I wonder if it's still around. He used to show up most weekends as he had a summer home on the island ...

I had the dancing bird and the dancing flower... Major didn't like their dance!!

I'll have to delete him soon. I am out of space and I forgot to reduce the pic size.

Duck, Duck, ........   GOOOSE !

(I LOVED that game !!!!!!!!   Anyone wanna play ?)

Cute duck Annie.

Scotts- Tom & I have been to the Floribama Lounge !!  Can't get much "beachier" for a beach bar, eh ?  LOL  Tom has actually been a number of times, when he & a bunch of co-workers used to make an annual "guys weekend" down there.  Then I was there during the Mullet Toss season- when it was a co-ed mix of friends who went for a long weekend.

Would really like to see that Little Zoo That Could sometime.  Haven't been back down that way since we watched their shows on PBS or whatever channel had them on.
