Ah yes, the bowl dumper. Ms Morgan did that when she first came here, a lot of it frustration because she had trouble eating. Got her an HQ cage that has the bars on the feed door area so it's impossible for her to lift the dishes out of the holders now. Ron bought Shasta's cage (she is, after all, his bird) and got the biggest one he could find at the bird fair, but also the cheapest. It came with plastic bowls that are an odd size, I haven't been able to find metal or crocks to fit. She's a dumper and stacker. So I've had to drill holes in the dishes themselves and fit a quick link into them and attach them to the food dish doors. I like your way a whole lot better, Nan. Will have to look into it, otherwise it's probably a new cage for Ms Shasta for Christmas. |

Clever idea, Nanners! Fortunately, no bowl dumpers here ... they make enough mess throwing just the food! I think they have food fights when I' at work! If Beau were a dumper, she wouldn't be able to in her new-to-her cage. The bowls are accessed from outside, and the bowl holder or "cage" is curved in slightly on the top edge, over the edges of the bowls. Her cage is an Avian Adventures. Just one more thing to add to our list of "think-abouts" to refer to when looking for a new cage! Abby |

Well it was an idea born out of frustration, because Dolly dumps stuff and so does Ariel. Yes you have to buy a few extra bowls to get enough rings, but wow cheaper than new cages, which I can't swing until next year, so this will just have to do lol Nan |
