there are a couple of foods in her that I have personally tried. I used chamomille tea for Dolly Bird to help with his plucking and I have used fresh ginger root to help with car sickness. when I travel with birds I always keep some in my little frig. We have one that doesn't travel well and this is better than using medications if you don't have to.
The only one  they mention that I'm leery of is the one on garlic because I've heard both good and bad things for use in parrots.

I like the fact that both beans and apples reduce cholesterol and for birds with a tendancy to get fat, this is a good diet suppliment. I fed pieces of apple daily and my birds aren't hyper nor are their stools loose. So it works here!

Now I don't know your birds just what works for me. I don't give grapes because there is a lot of sugar in them. Sometimes a I put a bit of grape seed extract in their water, as it is a good anti -oxidant.

I don't like to feed them much grape because of the sugar either, Nanners, but I make a big sacrifice! I buy seeded grapes, but them in half, take the seeds out and dole them around to the birds, and then I eat the grapes! I'll give them a bit of the grape along with the seed, but not very much.

I give my birds raw garlic pieces in their chopped veggies, and they love it. Crystal is a fanatic when it comes to bird nutrition, and she told me to so I do! Mind you, it's not very pleasant being breathed on afterwards! lol

I'm going to go back and read this article tomorrow ... it looks very interesting!

Mine also like garlic and I give it to them at least every other day depending on what I'm cooking. I take a clove and mash it and put it in their salad bowl...
Grapes I buy when a reasonable price and I don't like the seedless grape... I like eating the seeds and I guess mine must also.
I thought I had the nutrition thing down pat, was trying to do the 80% foods and 20% pellets, now I've done a turn around and decided it will be 80% pellets and the other 20% foods...
So much easier as long as I see the pellets are being eaten ... Jasmine has a tendancy to throw them at me, at the walls, decorate the carpet and see how many the tray of her cage can hold at one sitting........
