I just replied to your other message, Dontazz.

That's really weird that a vet refuses to see an unbanded bird. Shouldn't make one bit of difference to the vet unless it is illegal to have an unbanded bird in your state. Look at the link I gave you and choose another vet in your area.
Birds' poop is lots more liquid when they are laying. It has to be to get around the egg til she lays it.

I hope you are feeding high calcium foods. Try scrambled eggs with the shell crushed finely and scrambled into the egg.  She needs calcium in her diet to replace the calcium that goes into her eggshells. Otherwise it will be taken from her bones and she will end up very brittle and weak. Cuttle bone is good too if you can get to a pet store. Also collard greens and kale from the grocery store are good sources.
Good luck.
Annie

Yep....like Annie said.....do it.  Also want to add.....I don't think I'd be concerned that any of these eggs are fertile....unless there was a male with her shortly before she started laying.

I hope you can find a vet to see your bird.  I live in Washington state and took my unbanded bird to two vets without any problem, one in Seattle and the other in Snohomish.  I can't imagine why a vet would refuse to see an unbanded bird, but it must be a personal perference rather than any state law.  Good luck with her.  I'm glad you have given her a good home.  Kathy

I know you have to be worried especially if she wants to start to lay and it takes such a toll on them.
Like Annie I am in bewilderment as to why the vet doesn't want to check the bird and I think I'd call back and ask exactly WHY?
So many people have the band removed at a VET's... go figure....

I've also had un-banded birds to vets in Washington, without any problems.  I hope you are able to find out why this one won't see them, and report back to us
