Hi everyone! I'm so excited to have found this forum! I'm not a bird person quite yet.... I'm waiting for my baby, in about another week or so. I'm so excited and have been doing nothing but research, reading and buying stuff my new little buddy when he arrives, a Pacific parrotlet.
My name is Cindy and I live in central Wisconsin with hubby, our 2 JRTs, Jack and Stubby, our two riding buddies, Jed and Bo and soon to come home our little parrotlet. During the winter, we're pretty holed up at home in the snow UGH, but during the rest of the year, camping, camping and more camping with our horses and pups. I've already got a little weekend cage set up too for my birdie friend. He's going to be a traveling bird! I'm at at-home medical transcriptionist so when we're not camping, I'm home working and making money for my habits LOL. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and doing a lot of brain picking :))
Cindy

Woohoo!! Another Pacific Parrotlet in the Flock! Welcome to The Nest, Cindy ... We're glad you found us!

I'll be looking forward to stories about your new buddy once he/she arrives. Have you decided on a name yet?

Sounds like you have well rounded tastes in critters ... pooches, horses, and now parrots! lol  Doesn't get much better than that!

Abby

Hi Cindy. Glad you found us. I love the look of parrotlets but have never had one. Skeeter, a member, has a blue one. Such pretty things.
Stick around, we love folks.
Annie

Thanks for the welcome everybody! Been gone the whole weekend, shopping with my daughter and of course I had to go to the bird store, AGAIN. I wanted to get a bigger cage for my baby. I decided to name him Kiwi. I know, I know, it seems like it's the #1 name for these little guys but he's green and wee LOL so sorry if I took someone's name ;) I talked to his breeder today and I can go get him next Saturday yahoooo! He's got a ton of toys and he isn't even home yet!

Cindy, I think Kiwi is a fine name for your new little guy! Oddly enough, even though I have three green birds, Kiwi never crossed my mind as a name.

Basil (Indian Ringneck) was already named when she came to me, Sage (White-Eared Conure) just suited Sage, and Beaujolis (Hahns Macaw) was named by my dear friend, Di Slater - we call her Beau for short. My only non-green bird and only male, is Pepper, a Cockatiel.

It so much fun to share your enthusiasm about bringing Kiwi home. Less than a week to wait!!

Abby
