Hi Joyce - Welcome to The Nest!

I hope you'll introduce yourself, and tell us about yourself and any birds you have or want to have.

I share my home near Victoria, British Columbia with four feathered companions. Basil - female Indian Ringneck (almost 8 years), Pepper - male Cockatiel (6.5 years), Sage - female White-Eared Conure (almost 5 years), and Beau - female Hahns Macaw (10.5 years).

My two adult sons are married, and I have three grandbabies: Emily (will be 6 years in March), Julia (4 years) and baby Murray (7 months).

When you get a chance, we love to see pictures, Joyce!

Abby

Welcome to BB and we hope to see you post soon.
Join in so we get to know you and share stories and photos...
We are a casual bunch and share everything from birds to whatever takes our fancy... that's what families do...

I have quite a few birds... I post my web page as it would take quite a while to name all of them.

Let us hear from you soon...

Good morning fellow bird lovers. I have in my little private jungle, 5 pair of hand picked budgies, 5 hand fed budgies that fly loose in my room, (the 5 stooges), ever try to put makeup on with a budgie hanging off your forehead peering into your eye upsidedown? or had one land right on your hair immediately after you sprayed it? or had them rush to your head and shoulders schreaking with joy right in your ears and your head nearly explodes from the noise? well it's wonderful. LOL.   I also have 7 rescued cockatiels, each and every one are lovable, handlable and love to kiss on the mouth (isn't that suppose to cause creepin crud, or blublattus of the blowhole or something like that?) anyhow, we're all in love. We also have two delicious Elenora cockatoos, both males!! Lord have mercy. one is a rescue, he's still learning to trust, but he's bonded (on his own) to me, and we're in love too. ha ha!! and We have 7 lovely canaries, some umpteen fancy zebra and society finches, some of them I hand feed, which makes them extremely relaxed with people, In fact WE have to be aware and careful when working with them so they don't get out and get lost. they're so friendly. and Pigeons, LOTs of flying and non flying pigeons, NO prisioners, all free flying, some purebred, even very rare and expensive, but they all trust and love us and we have to keep from stepping on them when we feed, water, and just go to them. there's probably 100+ of them. We have three house pet pigeons that had a virus that caused them to loose some of their muscle control permanently. They get to go on car rides, etc. they have a full life.   They LOVE the rides, don't worry. I hold them up high enough to see the world go by, they just look and look, and get so excited. especially when feral pigeons fly overhead of the car, the pigeons we take get all wound up. it's a good life for them to keep from getting bored. In our lives we strongly believe in emotional and mental health as well as physical health for our birds.   Our parrot birds get LOTS of new stuff to chew, explore, forage through every day. Theyy're all inside the house for the winter, but they still get lots of STUFF to keep them busy and happy.   Joyce
