I have posted some pictures of some of my babies.I dont have pictures of my Zebra Finches,Piegon and Diamond Doves. My Finches are like the bunny on tv they just keep going and going and hatching eggs.My doves lost their first baby.I hope they will have better luck next time.I have 2 pair of Zebra Finches and 1 pair of Diamond Doves. The parakeet is a male and the piegon is also.I would like to get a female parakeet but I'm afraid he wont let me handle him anymore if I do.What do you guys think?Should I or not.He was hand raised by the person I got him from.I have a Sheltie,a chi. and a laberdoodle. OK about me I'm disabled with fibro and other problems. My babies help to keep me going. That is them and the pain meds LOL. |

Welcome Jean. So glad you found us. You'll see that we aren't just bird talkers. That's how we started out but we get off track a lot. If you wan to be able to keep your budgie sweet and tame I'd skip on the little girl budgie. They would likely bond and you would not be needed as his buddy any more. I have a 15 year old crabby male Grey, a 12 year old plucked female eclectus (ekkie) and two Chis. Both are 11 and are kin. NaeNae weighs 2 and a half pounds and Sonny is 12 pounds. How that happened we can't figure out. I love diamond doves. Such cute little things. You can see some of my babies here. Many shown are deceased. I miss them. Annie |

Welcome to the group, Jean. I bet those doves have better luck next time as most first hatchlings don't make it....or there is something wrong with them. Lots of first time parents don't know what they are doing yet and learn with each batch. I love those Diamonds. I used to have Collard Doves. They'd laugh with every jump...always made me smile. I've got two greys....one Timneh I finished off handraising who's now 6....gee....I always forget the ages...so I could be wrong, and a Congo Grey girl named Ruby whom I adopted a few years ago. She's a barberer and looks like she's always in her flannels, but a real love. I think she believes she is a Cockatoo and wants to be held all the time. She'll stick her feet through the cage bars while holding on with her beak...all the while them little feet are desperately trying to grasp your shirt. One German Shepherd pup who's now about 3 1/2 months old and full of herself. She also believes she's a Cockatoo and is sooooo sticky she'll trip you so quick getting under you. Oh...and one hubby...just one......and have a hard time managing him. I live near Paris Tn., close to Paris Landing State Park where the KY river comes through. I hope you have a wonderful time here.....it's a great group. The weather here is wonderful....compared to Nothern MN from where we moved last June. Wait till you see Annie's pics.....she has some really neat ones and is one of the best with the camera. I have trouble just getting the whole subject in without cutting off heads or feet. Who get's sidetracked......not me..... |

Hi, Jean! Welcome to The Nest! I'm glad that you found us. Sounds like you have quite a variety there, between birds and pooches! lol I share my home in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, with four feathered companions. Basil - Indian Ringneck, Pepper - Cockatiel, Sage - White-Eared Conure, and Beau - Hahns Macaw. I live near my older son, who has given me three grandchildren. Emily is now 7 years, Julia is 4 years, and baby Murray will be one year in June. I'm hope you'll pop in often to tell us about you, your birds and dogs, and anything else you want us to know! Again, Welcome, Jean! Abby |

Since you are hoping for babies, then you did the right thing in getting him a girlfriend now. So many of us don't want our birds to breed and I assumed that of you. Wrong!! Please, before you allow them to breed, be sure you have a list of names or shops to give or sell the babies to. There are so many unwanted birds and many rescue places are over their limits. We will watch for pics. Tell us so we won't miss them. Annie |
