Does anyone know what suddenly causes a keet to start losing its balance on a regular basis?  I'm getting really concerned because Petra, my little 4 yr old keet, keeps falling off her perches and her swing.  I'd had a mirror in the cage (as I did once before), but took it out because she starts "loving" that other bird too much.  Petra is eating okay, but in addition to the balance problem won't play and doesn't sing much.  Please help.

Awwwww, something might be terribly wrong.  I've heard of birds falling from perches for various reasons...none of them are good.  Your baby needs a vet I'm afraid.  Good luck and let us know what happens with her.

I'm with Tiva...please take her to a vet...it could be quite serious, but in the meantime until you can get her there, put the perch close to the bottom of the cage and line it with something soft so if she does fall, she won't hurt herself...let us know what happens.

I thought maybe Petra had gotten a chill because my A/C runs a lot since I live in Arizona.  I moved her to a warmer are and she seemed to be doing better the last 2 days, but now tonight she can't walk across the cage like before.  I moved her to my shoulder and she fell off.  She tried to fly and fell.  I've tried to find an avian vet -- not too many in my immediate area--and none are open tonight.  I don't have any clue what's wrong at this point.  She's still eating and drinking okay and pooping.  She also stretches her wings and legs and preens.  She still can grip the cage wire, but just can't balance on perches, swing.  Have lowered everything.  It's like she's partially paralyzed.  This is the 1st bird I've owned.   I'm so attached to her!!  Lost a dog to bone cancer 7 mos ago and am not ready to lose my little bird buddy.
