I'm thinking of buying a breeder pair of Quakers and the guy has a 2yr old female blue that he also wants to sell. Her mate flew away. I've wanted one of these since the first time I saw them. She's a parent raised bird and has never been handled. If any of you have a bird that was a breeder and was turned into a pet, I would appreciate hearing from you. The imported Quakers from years ago were almost impossible to tame, but she's young and at least domestic bred so she used to people. Thanks, Peggy |

I have two very different scenarios....... and both with Too's and Amazons.... General being a wild caught breeder Too, took about four months to settle in to becoming a "pet" while on the other hand I have a DYH that has taken much longer and has been here almost four years and is now coming around.... I feel had the DYH not been bonded to the male MRH then he too would have made an excellent pet. Unfortunately both were purchased at the same time to take them out of circulation and both knowing each other from the previous Avery, the DYH choose Scarlet as it's bonding partner over myself. Scarlet also a breeder came around probably within the first year and is totally bonded to me and a faithful pet.....even when the hormones kick in, he has remained very sweet.......Too2
