Im sure you've seen the post in the general board......in a few years i want to get a tiel (not NOW, we have a CAG and i have 3 kids..in a few years they will all be in full day school, it'll be easier then)......

i was wondering about the colors that they are.  Really, the only color i've seen are the white/grey mix, with a tad of yellow.....is that the norm?  or most popular?

I'm just now starting my research, so if i don't sound very knowledgable, thats why ....

Tina, the tiel colors are fasinating to study.  I have a big poster that has many of the colors, but not all of them.  There are many web sites that have color mutation pictures.  The white face tiels are beautiful, so different from the normal gray bird.  I started with a lutino male and cinnamon female.  When they had babies, I knew right away that the one lutino baby was a female, because of the sex linked genetics.  I now have lutinos, grays, cinnamon pearls, gray pearl and cinnamon pieds.  If there are any bird shows close enough for you to attend, that would be a way to get to see mutations in person.  Kathy

Was it a web page that showed different mutations of cockatiels?  I went to the site she posted from....but you have to remove the s from cockatiels.  There's a page there showing the mutations.

Repost to remove copyrighted photo.

Sorry, Tina, but you can't copy photos from another website. Please read the Message Rules on the left sidebar.

When I searched for the photo, I eventually found it here, in The National Cockatiel Society website:
