i need some advice please.
recently my tiel lost his cage mate, and now he wont shut up.
he seems to have adjusted to the loss, but...he's non stop noisy.
the problem is, if i cant get him to quiet down, i may have to give him away.
the neighbors are complaining.
i dont want to have to give him away since he is a sweetheart.
any advice about how to quiet him down?

When My little Danny passed, Sunny was quiet for some time. When she finally started calling out for him I thought that I should probably get another tiel for her to be buddies with, but tried the mirror first. She talked with her 'friend' in the mirror for a couple weeks, and then kind of drifted on to other new and more interactive toys since the 'friend' couldn't interact with her.
Almost 2 years later, she hasn't had another calling time and is back to her happy self.

thanks for the replies so far.
he's  got 2 mirrors on either end of his cage.
plus i rearranged all the toys and added a new one.
he keeps calling tho,  i thot he got over it...but then again, he did
lose his mate.
if i leave the room, he gets very noisy. nonstop  until i cover him, or spray him.
right now hes sitting quietly on my shoulder trying to eat my glasses.
but i cant have him there 24/7 altho i wouldnt mind...
i hope i can keep him...i love the little thing..its still up in the air tho.
which he took to flight and smashed into the window...ouch... but hes ok.

Hi Gsees, I just lost one girl about 2 mo.ago.SHe was first girls,my Big boss Drusha, her son Boo and other boy Symon
were always around her.I was so afraid, how trhey'll take her dead. Drusha got me like a mate,Symon over my other girl(Honey),Boo(who is most screamer)flies after Drusha from one room to other. But it isn't so bad like I expected.I can be home more for now,but when I try to leave they are screaming like crazy.Try to stay with him in the morning. But maybe you can get him another mate. They can't be alone if they got someone before.

loosing a cage mate is serious be mindful of how you'd feel if a "house person" of yours died. get a new toy, move his cage to a different spot, explain the loss to him saying that -- went bye-bye. what killed the bird? any worries with contagion? let me [email protected]
