I'm trying to give my birds as much soft, fresh fruits and veggies as I can as they're currently laying and nesting but they won't eat it!  They normally do.  Are they just being picky?  They won't touch pellets, lettuce, hard boiled egg yolks, and other fruits & veggies.  I've tried oatmeal too and nothing.  I'm worried my female won't get enough nutrition.  She has plenty of cuttle bone that she uses, but other than that all she wants is seed.  What can I try??

Thanks
Beth

They are cockatiels, Dovie.

I think I would keep trying if only every couple of days. She is getting calcium if she's eating the cuttlebone.
I bet that a week before hatch she will begin to eat soft foods. She knows that she needs to feed soft foods to the babies.
Try peas, corn, finely shredded carrots, cooked sweet potato and mashed whole hard boiled egg, including the whites. Good protein in the whites.
Fruits are unnecessary.
Good luck.
Annie

Sorry Dovie, yes they are cockatiels.

Thank you Annie for your reply!  I will definately try what you've said!

Beth
