 Hiya Fid Lovers!
I was going to try to come up with an April Fool's Day gag, but being the pratical joker that I am I consider this date to be amatuer day, so I obstain!
Today I rearranged all the cages around in the bird room, it's given me a lot more space in here to put their playgyms in, and other toys to make it different for them.Everyone was singing and playing when I got done, so I think they are happy in their*new* room. I like to do this every few months so they don't want to just be in one spot all the time.
The latest thing around here has been the recycling of old toys. Ones no one would play with have been made into new toys that everybirdy likes. I also recycled a couple of boings, in the past I've just thrown them out, instead of trying to reuse the frame. I'll have some pics of what we've been doing later on and a pic of the new and improved bird room.
We're also spackling and painting rooms, and deciding how to redo the upstairs floor . We thought about tile instead of new carpet and maybe a couple of big area rugs, so it's not so chilly. It's a lot easier to clean up those "puppy accidents", and we have a Floormate.
Btw people! Did you know you can put poop off in as the cleaner in a Floormate? I've used it in the bird room with great results!!!
I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! Nan

I wonder if this has happened to anyone with very large oak trees?.... I have one enormous tree in the front yard and it looks as if it is dying..... I had the leaves all raked up and the very next day there they were again.. finally had the good sense to look up and my tree only shows dead looking leaves... everywhere....... I know befor ethe hail storm it was in good condition, at least it had new growth, and now it's in sad shape....
Since this tree is growing around the phone, electrical and cable wires, the tree was here first BTW, who should I call regarding the potential danger if we have have more strong winds, and mostly I'd like to make sure it isn't in shock...... Who would I call? The people who cut the dead limbs out after Ivan didn't even "tar" the large branches and I felt that was almost neglectfull.....they were supposed to be tree surgeons!!........  Too2

We had tornado warnings at work this afternoon, when I got home, the power had been off and we had hail on the ground.  It missed us driving home, but the poor trees lost about half of the leaves.  We are supposed to be having more bad weather later tonight, but it looks like Too2 is in the middle of some bad storms now.   I hope she will check in soon.  She has a HUGE tree just next to her house.   The storms have been traveling from MS.  I hope all the folks there are ok.
Sherry:)

We had the same problem last night ! Tornado warnings, flash flood warnings and hail over in Shenandoah( about 20 miles from us) had about 3 inches of hail on the ground. We moved all the pets into carriers and into the storage room for  couple of hours. We had some rain this morning but it seems to be moving away from us now.

Tomorrow Wayne and Tom are ripping up the carpet in house in town. Apparently in the spots they've checked the wood flooring looks pretty good, so we'll see.. We have painting yet to do and then it will be general moving type stuff.

Went to Omaha for the bi monthly pet food and other fun stuff. I broke down and picked up a Dyson vacumm cleaner ( the one that does pet hair) and I'll let you know how it works, It should vacumm by itself for what it costs!

My chores will include vacumming the house cloeaning the bird room and laundry. Lots of laundry.. Hope everyone has a super weekend! Nan

P.S. you tornado and rain folks duck for cover and when it's over let us know how you are!!

More branches knocked down with last nights storm.. and Dale I think I will call the Ext Office Monday morning... I notice in the neighbourhood more and more trees looking like the one in my front yard......
Sherry glad you made it through the storm.... I saw about teatime you were getting rough weather, then ours began and the torndoes supposed to be over by 7ish.. and by 10pm all hell broke loose.......
No lights,  so it took the lightening strikes to show the damage and the hail storm.... I couldn't remember if I'd rolled up the car windows and rushed out with the umbrella which is now probably floating in the Gulf...... Had no idea the winds were that fierce......Too2

Glad you're ok Too2.  I figured you were having it rough.
Feathers, I'm so glad we dont get that cold here..I think 18 in April is a little too cold for me.  I'll be glad when it stays between 75-80 degrees.....It is cool here today and it is 64. It is supposed to be about 39 tonight.  Glad I haven't put out the tomatoes yet.....it is really windy, I hope it doesn't get any worse than it is now.
Sherry

Hi All

It's a beautiful, sunny Saturday here ... really unbelievable weather!

I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. My mother went to the hospital by ambulance with chest pains the night before last. Turned out to be leftovers from a couple of bouts of pleurisy she's had the last few months, thank God! By the time I got to bed at about 3:00 am I was so wound up I couldn't sleep, and then went to work yesterday. I feel like I'm all in, and I haven't even done anything!

Birds are good, grandbabies are good. Have a wonderful weekend!

Abby

It's been so beautiful this past week and today looks like rain. We need it but I don't want it.

Princess had her puppies yesterday, 4 little girls. Hershey had her's last Sun, 3 girls and a boy. So far all are doing well. After what happened last time I'm not sure I'm ready for this. Won't be bring any dogs home from the pound, you can bet the farm on that.

Everything is so green. Our winter is over till next Oct. There are all kinds of birds every where and those big black ones (I forget the name, Grakles or something) are eating all the dog food. They are everywhere.

I need to feed the birds and off to work. Another day another dollar. Hope you all have a great day.
