Well I broke down and went to the Dr for my back. Two weeks of this was all I could take. He gave me some new meds and I'm supposed to do NOTHING for a week. Lucky for me I have Billy and he can take over with the critters. Truffles likes me OK but when Billy is here, she is his bird. She just adores him.

I sure wish I could send some of this heat up to you Dale. It's sooooo hot and muggy. Like being in a suana. The kids are enjoying the pool. I'm too fat to swimming anymore.

This is short, I took my meds and I ready for sleep. Hope you all have a good night.  Peggy

Glad you went to the doc Paggy as back trouble can make us grouchy..........
truffles must be a bit like Major as when Mike's around he is a man's bird. Bur Major belonged to a young man and so the bond is there, and he'll be lovey dovey to me. typical male. 'till someone better comes along.......
And Dale I sure wish you'd take some of the hot muggy Florida heat.... Too2

I'm not seeing any improvement yet in my back but I've only been on the meds for 2 days. I HATE not being able to get around. And yes Too2 it makes me grouchy.

Savannah is still holding a grudge from the wings and toenail thing. I do hers with her in my lap so I don't know what she's so mad about. Sugar is mad at Billy since he was doing the holding. The others have already forgotten it.

Another hot, hot day. I'm already ready for winter. I keep thinking about that beautiful snow at Christmas. My poor GS thinks he's starving so I'm going to help him find something to eat.  Peggy

I finished my quilt squares for the swap I'm participating in, now I have to clean of the burdy-gurlz play gym so they can go back to using it....that's where I set up my little table-top ironing board when I'm sewing.

I'm already searching for fabric to make a quilt for Sarah and Tom for a Christmas present.  They want a king-size burgandy and green one for their bedroom..I'm thinking a flannel rag quilt might be the easiest, but I'll have to get some help on doing the fringe cutting as that's quite a project for me with my arthritis.  Karen said she thinks maybe some of the home school teenager girls she knows might do it for a few lessons in how to make a rag quilt, so that's a possibility.  Actually sounds like fun to me.  di

Sorry you're having back problems Peggy. That's the pits, to say the least! I sure hope your new meds do the trick.

When I went to Physio today, we talked about how my back hasn't bothered me as much the past couple of weeks since I last saw her. Then I realized that while Dad was in the hospital, I wasn't spending any time to speak of with the granddaughters! I think it's lifting sturdy little Julia that got it riled up again! Anyway, I'll try to be more careful how I lift her if I have to lift her, and see if that helps.

Hey, now we know why I'm always such a grouch!

Dale, how is your veggie garden coming? Have it all in the ground yet?

Nanners, how are you doing? Just 'cause you're a new bride doesn't mean you can stay away, you know!

Our weather has been really iffy the past few days ... sunny one minute, and rainy and windy the next. In one day it seems like we have about four different climates! Right now its dul and grey out, but it stopped raining. I sure hope it clears a bit for the weekend. I want to get out in my flowerbeds!

Di, you should post some pictures of your quilts! I love quilts! In Abbotsford there is a large Mennonite community, and man do those ladies make some unbelievably beautiful quilts! At the Agricultural Fair they always have lots of competition for the quilters (as well as other handiwork) and I used to just love going through and looking at the entries.

Dad is doing better, but he is still really listless and tires really easily. My son Jason is coming over tomorrow from the mainland to visit, and I'm hoping that will perk Dad up a bit. He's bringing the pictures he and Kate took on their Australian trip last month.

Hope you are all doing well, and that you have a great weekend!

Abby

I'll probably have lots of time to stop by here tomorrow morning but at 8 a.m., we take off for Colorado.  Talked to my galfriend in the high country a short time ago and she said that it snowed yesterday.  Four inches of that cold, wet, white stuff is still on the ground today.  That's a stark reminder of why we moved south immediately after my hubby's retirement!

I'm sure that we'll find fun stuff to do every day but I'll sure miss BB while I'm whiling away the hours before dawn.  Y'all stay safe and I'll be back about the 28th.

Hi All...... Can you believe we're half way through June? Time goes so fast. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the migraines, Feathers. I have them on occasion, and have really terrible headaches just about every day. It's rough. The Fids are very compassionate and gather round me, trying to help. And Peggy, I also have back problems--Degenerative discs. Fun, ain't it? My but we're a healthy bunch. The Fids are all fine. Isaac just turned 10, Caillou 2, Simba 5. They're just full of it these days!

Well the back is some better. The spasms have stopped and that's a big relief but it still hurts if I try to do to much.  It's a great excuse for being lazy.

I came home from work late to discover that Miss Truffles had let her self out of her escape proof cage and had a very good time. She'd chewed up the plastic clothspins I use on the cage covers at night, a writing pin, a window blind, and last but not least, the keyboard for the webtv. Since I still use that for my e-mail I'll have to replace it. When I put her back in her cage she didn't take her head out of the food dish for at least an hour. I have to try tomorrow to figure out how she did it. Tonight I'm just greatful she wasn't hurt. Her head was with in a foot or so of the ceiling fan I always turn off when they are out.

I'm soooo glad it's Friday. I really need to clean house and I'm looking forward to not leaving this house all weekend. For now it's off to bed for me.  Peggy

OMG I've been computerless for 2 days. First Truffles chewed up the keyboard for the webtv on Fri. and then Sugar got the cord to mouse on the PC on Sat. I think my too's have it in for me. The keyboard is useable but it's not working very well. I was able to read the e-mail and the message boards but couldn't reply to anything. I was off today but my SIL had to go to town so he picked me up a mouse.

Both grands came over yesterday and David mowed while Billy helped me bath and groom 16 dogs. I shave Jays Aussie ever year and then we did all of mine. Becky made a great dinner for Jay for fathers day and then I crashed. That's a lot of work. I stayed home today to finish the house work and laundry.

Dale, I sure hope your migrains are better. My youngest gs has them and they can't figure out why. I feel so sorry for him when one hits. Once in a while I have sinus or stress headaches but not often. The back pain more than makes up for it though.

Guess I'd better close this down and finish the laundry. Hope you all have a great evening. Peggy

I'm back from vacation.  6 lbs. lighter and exhausted.  Ten days away from home seems to have curbed some of my compulsion to hold hands with a computer.  That probably won't last long.
