Mix above ingredients together. Cook to soft ball stage. Do not stir the sugar crystals that collect
on the sides of the pan into the mixture. Will make them gritty textured.
Add:
1 and 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat with wooden spoon until it loses its glossiness.
Drop quickly by tablespoonsful onto waxed paper.
If it hardens too fast to drop, add hot water a few drops at a time.
These are firm and sugary-not sticky and shiny.
