2 pkgs dried sweet corn
2 pounds brown rice
2 pounds dried pinto beans
2 pounds dried kidney beans
2 pounds dried lima beans
2 pounds dried blackeye peas
2 pounds dried navy beans
2 pounds dried split peas
This recipe makes so much that I mix it, store it dry,
and cook it in small batches.
Pick through beans to remove foreign matter.
Mix together and rinse well.
Soak overnight in very large soup pot.
Rinse again. Add fresh water to cover.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for
several hours til tender. Stir often.
Pack into baggies for freezer.
Add frozen or fresh corn, cooked pasta and
dried hot red peppers before serving warm.
Cost of dry ingredients about $16.
